• Minor to moderate impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the localities where Wind Signal No. 2 is hoisted.
• Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.

A minimal to moderate risk of storm surge may occur in the next 48 hours in the low-lying or exposed coastal localities of Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
In the next 24 hours, ENTENG and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring the following conditions over the coastal waters of the country:

• Gale Warning is in effect over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon. Sea travel is risky for small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas. For more information, refer to Gale Warning No. 5 issued at 5:00 AM today.
• Rough seas over the western seaboard of Northern Luzon outside Gale Warning areas (2.5 to 4.0 m). Moderate to rough seas over the western seaboard of Central Luzon (1.5 to 3.0 m), the seaboards of Southern Luzon (2.0 to 3.5 m), and the western seaboard of Visayas (1.5 to 2.5 m). Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.
• Slight to moderate seas are expected over the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao (1.0 to 2.0 m). Mariners of motorbancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• On the track forecast, ENTENG will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow morning. Outside the PAR region, the tropical storm will move generally westward until Friday morning, then turn west northwestward for the remainder of the forecast period. ENTENG may make another landfall in the vicinity of southern mainland China during the weekend.
• ENTENG is forecast to intensify throughout the forecast period and may reach severe tropical storm category in the next 12 hours, and typhoon category on Thursday. The tropical cyclone may reach its peak intensity by late Friday or early Saturday prior to making landfall in mainland China.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. • ENTENG is forecast to continue moving northwestward over northern Cordillera Administrative Region tonight and is expected to emerge over the northwestern portion of Ilocos Region by tomorrow morning (3 September). From tomorrow afternoon to Thursday, ENTENG will move generally westward over the West Philippine Sea. On the track forecast, this tropical cyclone may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday (4 September) morning.
• ENTENG is forecast to maintain tropical storm category during its traverse of mainland Northern Luzon. Further intensification is forecast to occur from tomorrow afternoon onwards, with ENTENG becoming a severe tropical storm by tomorrow afternoon or evening (at the earliest), and typhoon category by Thursday (5 September).

Heavy Rainfall Outlook

Forecast accumulated rainfall: Today to tomorrow (3 September) afternoon
• 100-200 mm: Ilocos Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, and the northern and central portions of Aurora.
• 50-100 mm: Zambales, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Metro Manila, and the rest of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region.

Forecast accumulated rainfall: Tomorrow afternoon to Wednesday (4 September) afternoon
• 100-200 mm: Ilocos Sur and Abra
• 50-100 mm: The rest of Ilocos Region, and Benguet.

Forecast rainfall are generally higher in elevated or mountainous areas. Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are expected especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in official hazard maps and in localities that experienced considerable amounts of rainfall for the past several days.

Furthermore, the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring moderate to intense rainfall in other areas of Luzon and Visayas (especially along the western portions) over the next three days. For more information, refer to Weather Advisory No. 5 issued at 11:00 AM today.

Severe Winds

The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.

• Minor to moderate impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the localities where Wind Signal No. 2 is hoisted.
• Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.

The highest possible Wind Signal that may be hoisted during the passage of ENTENG is Wind Signal No. 3.

The enhanced Southwest Monsoon will also bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):

• Today: Ilocos Region, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Visayas
• Tomorrow (3 September): Ilocos Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Zambales, Bataan, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Northern Samar.
• Wednesday (4 September): Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Aurora, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Negros Occidenta, Northern Samar.

Coastal Inundation

A minimal to moderate risk of storm surge may occur in the next 48 hours in the low-lying or exposed coastal localities of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Aurora. For more information, refer to Storm Surge Warning No. 2 issued at 2:00 PM today. Refer to official hazard maps for specific areas susceptible to storm surge inundation in these provinces.

HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS

In the next 24 hours, ENTENG and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring the following conditions over the coastal waters of the country:

• Gale Warning is in effect over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon. Sea travel is risky for small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas. For more information, refer to Gale Warning No. 3 issued at 5:00 PM today.
• Moderate to rough seas over the western seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon (1.5 to 3.0 m), the western seaboard of Southern Luzon, the eastern and southern seaboard of Southern Luzon outside Gale Warning areas, and western seaboard of Visayas (1.5 to 2.5 m). Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.
• Slight to moderate seas are expected over the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao (1.0 to 2.0 m). Mariners of motorbancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK

• ENTENG is forecast to continue moving north northwestward or northward over Cagayan Valley or northern Cordillera Administrative Region before turning west northwestward over the Babuyan Channel by tomorrow (3 September) morning. From tomorrow afternoon to Thursday, ENTENG will move generally westward over the West Philippine Sea. On the track forecast, this tropical cyclone may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday (4 September) morning or afternoon.
• ENTENG is forecast to maintain tropical storm category during its traverse of mainland Northern Luzon. Further intensification is forecast to occur from tomorrow afternoon onwards, with ENTENG becoming a severe tropical storm by tomorrow afternoon or evening (at the earliest), and typhoon category by Thursday.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
