Multi-sensory learning has generated wonders for children since 1935 by Orton-Gillingham. It is an approach that encourages the usage of multiple senses to allow the brain to absorb information more efficiently. In children, this creates stronger connections in their brains to retain knowledge better. Lessons become fun and dynamic, thus children are interested to learn more, resulting to enhanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.

A multi-sensory approach to learning opens children an opportunity to think outside the box and ultimately, foster their creativity.

Children, in their boundless curiosity, often embark on explorations without guaranteed success. Their journey to discovery is a mixture of successes and missteps. They do trial and error to learn about resilience and perseverance, and to master new skills and uncover knowledge.

In the classroom, children donโ€™t immediately replicate the teacherโ€™s work. Even with the simplest forms of materials, they tend to add their own ideas to their work โ€” this is beautiful! When I started teaching, this used to bother me and Iโ€™d often interrupt the child so they get it right. But now, I know better than to disrupt the natural course of a childโ€™s learning. I sit back, and watch the joy in their eyes as they discover how the things around them work at their own pace and time.
