4Ps BENEFICIARIES (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) ARE NOT THE PRIORITY IN DEPED’S RANKING SYSTEM FOR HIRING TEACHERS.

DepEd’s ranking process is based on DepEd Order No. 7, s. 2015, which does not explicitly mention prioritizing 4Ps beneficiaries in the hiring process. However, subsequent communications and memoranda indicate that 4Ps beneficiaries may receive priority under certain conditions.

Some DepEd divisions may give extra points to 4Ps beneficiaries under the Social Criteria category, which prioritizes applicants from indigent families. However, this is not a national policy and depends on local division guidelines.

Certain DepEd regional offices have issued memoranda prioritizing 4Ps beneficiaries in hiring for Teacher I positions. Here are some examples:

1. DepEd Region I

RM 1173, s. 2023: Prioritizes 4Ps beneficiaries who have passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) for Teacher I positions, subject to the minimum qualification requirements per DepEd Orders No. 7 and 22, series of 2015.

2. DepEd Region VIII

RM 807, s. 2023: Provides an updated list of 4Ps beneficiaries who passed the LET, indicating a focus on these individuals for potential hiring.

These regional initiatives align with the government's broader efforts to support 4Ps beneficiaries by providing employment opportunities in the education sector.

Therefore, while 4Ps beneficiaries are not explicitly prioritized in the national hiring guidelines, they may receive consideration under specific circumstances, particularly when they meet residency requirements or are included in priority lists provided by regional offices.

SHOUT OUT TO ALL TEACHERS‼️

I felt so sad about what I experienced in the jeep tonight. I sat next to a teacher (I based her identity on her uniform, bags and on the story I am about to tell you).

At first I did not pay much attention to what she was nagging about. I thought she was talking to someone on the phone. I wasn’t looking at her, but I could hear her clearly; obviously because she was sitting next to me and she was talking loudly. As I listened, I noticed the shifts of her statements. She’s been talking from one topic to another without connections.

There I tried to glance at a mirror in front of me to check if she was really talking to someone on the phone. But to my surprise, SHE WAS NOT!

That was when I paid more attention to her. At first, I felt unsecured of what she might do next, thinking that she might hurt me or anyone else inside the jeep. Her volume wasn’t normal. She went humming; then talked so loud that got everybody’s attention.

I listened more intently. She’s been mentioning about payment of bills, phone lines, mga nagbalak na mangutang sa kanya na hindi nya pinautang dahil wala din daw siya pera, yung okay na siya sa sahod na 21, talking about marriage, kalandian ng mga babae kakilala nya, mga sakunang nagaganap sa Pilipinas, prayer, kandila, comparing situations before and today, talking about 199 na presyo with matching turo sa labas ng bintana, Jesus Christ, presyo ng folder na hindi nya naman daw nakita, nakikipagtalo siya sa mga students, parents, 5:41 am pa lang daw nakaIN na siya, nagtatrabaho daw siya para sa kapatid nya and many more... she was talking all by herself. but what caught my attention was her statement “pag ganyan madeDEPRESS ka talaga”. 😔She lost her sanity.

It pained me to listen to her sentiments. I felt so bad for her. Kaya I ENCOURAGE all the TEACHERS out there to find someone to talk to and open all your hurts about your work. Not all understand how hard it is to become a teacher. We battle everyday to educate and discipline our students, but we do not get all the appreciations and commendations. Sometimes, we are seen as an enemy by our students and sadly also by some parents. So teachers, as we fight in this profession, let us not forget to keep our health as our main priority; keep our emotions and systems stable.

We will lose the battle if we lose ourselves. Please prioritize your mental health. Let's pray for one another. 😞 🙏
