I know we're supposed to spread the holiday cheer, pero may mga natanggap po akong messages from dog owners who are having a difficult time right now due to the loss of their beloved pets. They are asking if I do counselling. Pasensya na po, but I am not qualified to do this. I can, however, offer my support as a fellow dog owner โค๏ธ
First of all, wala pong "right way to grieve." Wala rin pong timeline kung kailan titigil ang sakit. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. It's okay to feel a mix of emotions all at once. Mabigat sa dibdib, mahirap kumilos. Just give yourself time and space to grieve.
Second, healing is a process. Ang nakatulong po sa akin ay ang mga photos ng The Big Three. Looking back at our time together, I realized that they had a great life. They were happy. They know I loved them and I know that they loved me. Now, they are happiest in heaven. And that thought gives me comfort.
Lastly, you don't have to go through this alone. Your family and friends are there to support you. But if the grief becomes overwhelming, it is all right to seek help from a licensed therapist or psychiatrist. Access to telemedicine is very easy now. Professional help is just a click away.๐
