Gov. Edwin Ongchuan expressed his full support for Vice President Leni Robredo’s presidential bid in a statement released on his personal Facebook account today, March 15, 2022. Gov. Onchuan, the chairperson of the National Unity Party in Northern Samar, has the backing of the local leaders as almost all of the 24 incumbent mayors in the province are members of the party, along with the district congressmen and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

NPA aka "KA MANNY" SURRENDERS TO NORTHERN SAMAR POLICE

Another local communist supporter renounced his allegiance as a revolutionary in Silvino Lubos, Northern Samar on March 13, 2022. He was identified as Alias 'Ka Manny,' who is an active member of the Yunit Militia (YM) or 'New People's Army in the Barrio' since 2020. He also handed over a caliber .45 pistol.

KA Manny, serves under the command of Alias 'Ar-Ar' of the Front Committee 1, Sub-Regional Committee Emporium, operating in Silvino Lubos Northern Samar.

PD-NSPPO PCOL ALFREDO J. TADEFA commended the effort of Silvino Lubos Municipal Police Station headed by PLT DANTE R ANDAYA, Officer-In-Charge in the quest to end the local insurgency .

Currently, Silvino Lubos MPS is assessing and assisting the surrenderers by preparing the requirements for their enrollment to the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.

A Send-off ceremony for Community Support Program (CSP)/Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) teams was held on March 9, 2022.

204 CSP/PLEDS operators composed of 20 teams from NSPPO, Tacloban City Mobile For Company, 1st and 2nd Southern Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), 1st and 2nd Leyte PMFC, Biliran PMFC, and Ormoc PMFC who undergone the 5-day CSP Training will be dispatched to 20 insurgency affected barangays in the municipalities of Las Navas, Catubig, Laoang, Palapag, Mapanas, Gamay, and Lapinig, all of Northern Samar.

Board Member Christian Uy, represents Governor Edwin Ongchuan in a prepared message he expressed his gratitude to NSPPO and 803rd Brigade IB as prime movers in the effort to end the insurgency and in attaining inclusive and lasting peace.

During the ceremony LMP President Mayor Galahad Vicencio accepted the CSP/PLEDS teams on behalf all the municipalities and barangays covered by the program. PCOL ALFREDO J TADEFA, NSPPO Acting Provincial Director expressed his appreciation to the Provincial and Local Government Units for their steadfast support and assistance to the PNP and AFP in the conduct of peace and development mission in the province. And, COL PERFECTO PENAREDONDO, Brigade Commander of the 803rd Infantry Battalion gave his message of support.

The Northern Samar Provincial Social Welfare Development Office conducted Pre-Admission and Admission Conference for the new batch of Peace Builders enrolled in the center last February 28, 2022 at Darangpan Center (Halfway House for Former Rebels) . The event was organized by the Darangpan Staffs and the newly appointed Center Manager, Ms. Analiza M. Mission, RSW.

A total of 28 peace builders were enrolled in Darangpan Center and participated the Pre-Admission Conference where Ms. Mission, discussed about the Policy and Guidelines of Darangpan Center and also about the ECLIP and LSIP Program.

Yesterday, February 8, 2022, a Sari-Sari Store package received by 6 Former Rebels and one baking equipment for 1 Former Rebel from DOLE Northern Samar Field Office spearheaded by Mr. Virgilio A. Doroja, Jr., OIC Chief during the launching of Livelihood Formation Project for the Former Rebels at Darangpan Center CATARMAN Northern Samar .

Last February 23, 2022, they also distributed: 5 piglets, 7 sacks of feeds, 1 bottle of vitamins for 16 Former Rebels .

fhe NSPPO uniformed and non-uniformed women personnel joined the observance of International Women’s Day (IWD) early morning this March 8, 2022.

Bobon Municipal Police Station initiatives with the active support of its Local Government Unit conducted 5 kilometers Color Fun Run and all participants showcased their grace and confidence in Zumba dance and exercises also a motorcade was held which started in said town to Catarman town proper.

Purple, which signifies justice and dignity, is the color symbolizing women. In these events, women participants wore different shades of purple and tied purple flaglets and balloons.

PCOL ALFREDO J TADEFA, NSPPO Acting Provincial Director expressed his appreciation to the women of the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office for their significant contribution in the PNP organization.

The event was participated by NSPPO Officers' Ladies Club led by Dr. Isabina Gomba, Club President who likewise graced the event together with PLT NUNCIA A Formaran, NSPPO Chief WCPD; 803rd Infantry Brigade and LGU-Bobon.

LGU Catarman conducted an activity that serves as a kick off of the 2022 National Women's Month Celebration this month and coincides with the International Women's Day March 8, 2022.

The Cararman Women's Trade Fair opens this morning where in Native products, delicious delicacies, handicrafts, fresh agricultural harvests, small businesses, organic produce and even ornamental plants are now available inside the Municipal Covered Court.

Municipal Administrator Renato Esidera led the Ribbon Cutting assisting him were MSWDO Irmina Delorino, DTI Provincial Director Mimosa Regis and PIA Catarman Area Manager Ailene N. Diaz.

A Cessna 150 plane owned by Mactan Aviation crashes in Barangay Dahican, Mati City in Davao Oriental this morning March 7, 2022. The plane is said to be on its training flight from Davao to Mati and vice versa with one instructor pilot and one student pilot onboard. Mati City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rescuers failed to find the flight instructor and the student pilot in the area.

1 Soldier wounded due to NPA Deliberate Attack

The CSP teams of 20th Infantry (We Lead) Battalion while having a dialogue with the residents of Brgy. CM Recto, Catubig, Northern Samar was deliberately attacked by the undetermined number of Communist NPA Terrorists (C**s) at around 9:30 in the evening of March 5, 2022 which resulting to hit on his neck
of Sergeant Gleen C Amado.

It is believed that the group of C**s led by who is frequently sighted conducting extortion activities such as collection of money and food supplies from the people in the area was behind the attack.

Sgt Amado is now in stable condition and continously undergoing medical treatment at the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital.
