I am currently staying at Vista Al Mayon Pensionne in Legaspi City for my 2-day seminar at Misibis Bay Resort.

Early this morning, during my devotion (thank God the hotel has a Bible available), God led me to Genesis 3:4

Devotion: The Deceptive Lie of Satan

In Genesis 3:4, Satan, in the form of a serpent, tells Eve, "You shall not surely die."

This lie has persisted throughout time and is still prevalent in our sophisticated modern world.

There is no change in Satan’s strategy.

Even today, people echo this lie in their expressions: "Hindi ka naman nyan mamatay" (You won't die from that).

They do not realize that this was the very dialogue of the serpent to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Satan might say, "It's okay to drink alcohol, to indulge in vices—you won't die from that." Or, "It's okay to engage in immorality—you won't die!"

Instead of listening to these deceptive lies, we should heed the Word of God.

In John 8:24, Jesus warns, "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins."

The choice is ours: whom will we listen to? Satan, who says you won't die even if you sin, or the Lord Jesus, who warns that you will die in your sins if you do not believe in Him?

Choose wisely whom you will listen to today.
