𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗔 𝗥𝗢𝗩 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗜𝗗/𝗦𝗥𝗕 𝗢𝗔𝗦, 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗠𝗢 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺
The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) orients the graduating maritime students on Seafarer’s Identity Document and Seafarer’s Record Book (SID/SRB), Online Appointment system (OAS), and MARINA Integrated Seafarers Management Online (MISMO) System, on May 3, 2024, at the MPCF Gymnasium.
The graduating students from BS Marine Engineering (BSMARE), BS Maritime Transportation (BSMT), and Cruise Ship Management Course (CSMC) attended the event, spearheaded by the On-Board Training Office (OBT) Office with 2/M Alexander M. Aco, OBT Office Supervisor.
The speakers from MARINA ROV: Engr. General M. Abuel, section head, Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW); Mr. Melvin B. Balean, staff, STCW; Ms. Joyce A. Saeza, section head of Manpower Development Service (MDS); and Mr. Joerey A. Hallare, staff, MDS tackled their topics on the application of MARINA MISMO System, SID/SRB, and OAS.
They also added the various MARINA circulars and advisories along with the acknowledgment of all the questions of the students through the open forum.
In an interview with 2/M Aco, the said event ensures that the graduating maritime students are aware of the steps and process of the recent trends concerning MARINA and their MISMO account, especially that it would equip them with the proper actions and steps on the processing of their documents at MARINA.
“Maganda itong event na ito, lalo na MARINA na mismo ang pumunta sa school natin. Sa amin kasi, kapag may mga problema ang mga estudyante sa paggawa ng MISMO account nila, limited lang naman ang masasagot namin. Kaya maganda na yung sila na ang pumunta dito. Kumbaga kapag may tanong sila, MARINA na mismo ang sasagot directly.” he said.
2/M Aco also mentioned that later, the students are required to make their own MISMO account as part of their clearance for the said event.
A MISMO Account from MARINA is required for all cadets who wish to have an online appointment at MARINA, unifying all the information systems utilized by the different divisions of the STCW office. The said account is one of the requirements to be met by those cadets who aim to work onboard a ship.

Dr. Gabriel L. Jimenez, OIC-President honors the late founder’s 102nd Birth Anniversary in his thanksgiving message during the holy mass, last, April 30, 2024, at Mariners’ Canaman Chapel.

Dr. Jimenez rekindled and described his father’s words after the mass presided by, Rev. Fr. Alfred Baesa, parish priest of Libmanan, Cam. Sur.

“Our father was a doting father. He was always full of love. Ang laging iniisip niya is ang vision na bibigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang ating youth. He loved the Bikolanos, kaya sinabi niyang, ‘I’m going back to Bicol to share what I have experienced in my life, kaya kayo (the children) would continue my vision and the mission that I have started in Mariners’' he said.

The Board Chairperson and Vice President for Planning and Development, Madame Evita Jimenez-Tuazon also added her thoughts regarding the Founder’s Day. She mentioned that her father, who is a Libmaneño, through a meeting with the mayor of Libmanan, shall have a statue built at the center of Libmanan.

This was later on clarified with the guest, Mr. Jose Antonio H. Dilanco Jr, Executive Secretary to the Mayor of Libmanan - Mr. Jesus ‘Jes’ Camara, it is not a resolution, but an ordinance that not only a statute that will be built next year, but they will also declare April Day as Commemoration to Jimenez Sr.

Afterward, the blessing of the foundation of the picture of JCJ Sr., newly renovated chapel, Human Resources (HR), Community Extension, Research office, restrooms, vendo-machine, oil-water separator machine at the gym, and Masahe center, along with the groundbreaking of JIM’s Barber Shop at Berde Azul.

Mariners’ Canaman pays tribute to the late founder, Commodore Jaime Jimenez Sr., by attending the eve of the Tignarakol Festival with a liturgy hymn played by the Mariners’ Band through a fluvial procession on April 23, 2024.

Tignarakol Festival is the festival of St. Vincent Ferrer, the patron saint of Brgy. San Vicente, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. This is also the hometown of the late founder of the Mariners’ Community.

Mariners’ staff, students, and the highlight guest, Mariners’ Band, walked with the procession of the patron from the Parish of San Vicente to the harbor of the San Vicente River, which proceeded to the fluvial procession at the Libmanan River. Their river was once a pioneer mode of transportation from Naga City and Libmanan-Cabusao, which until now provides livelihood to the people.

The institution has long been part of this tradition, a connection that continues today through late Commodore Jaime Jimenez Sr., founder of the Mariners' Community, who grew, studied, and spent his formative years in San Vicente Libmanan.

In an interview with the OIC President, Dr. Gabriel Jimenez fondly recalls his father's deep ties to the town of San Vicente Ferrer.

“Ang pagpunta at presensya ng Mariners’ ay pagbibigay pugay at acknowledgement bilang isang anak ng isang taga San Vicente, Libmanan. Dito siya nagsimula, dito siya pinaganak, nag elementarya, at dito nagsimula ang kanyang pangarap.” Dr. Gabriel said.

“Kung buhay ang father ko, [ang] dami niyang programa para maimprove ‘to. Dito ang kabuhayan nila noon, isdaan and transportation from there and then,” He added.

Moreover, he is also committed to improving the connection with his father’s hometown with Mariners’ having a part of it.

To promote camaraderie and strong bonds, the Harbours Club along with the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) Department commences its annual Aduana Convergence 2024, with the theme, ‘Bridging boundaries, connecting ideas, people, and possibilities,‘ on April 26, 2024, at Tinandayagan Falls & Resort, Brgy. Palong, Libmanan, Camarines Sur.

92 first- to fourth-year students, two Red Cross first-aid responders, four faculty members, and the department director, Ms. Edna B. Nacion, LCB, LPT, MCA, were present at the event.

The team building commenced with Amazing Race and was facilitated by the Harbor’s Club officers. There were eight teams, equally dividing the students from first up to fourth years. The game consisted of eight stations scattered around the resort, each with different challenges such as sack relay, catch the egg, pinoy henyo, and others.

After all the teams successfully passed through all the stations, Ms. Nacion still mentioned in her message during the short program the definition, objectives, goals, and expected outcomes of the course program, BSCA. She also added that as future customs brokers, everyone is expected to have a successful and productive career after academics.

“As future customs brokers, we are responsible & ethical professionals. Hindi lang sarili ang iniisip, dapat para sa lahat. Maraming opportunities ang pwede maging trabaho, pwedeng maging declarant, college instructor, freight forwarder, and so on.” she said.

In addition, the third and fourth-year students introduced themselves along with their principles as aspiring customs brokers to inspire the lower batches. The third-years shall spend their summer in Manila for their On-the-Job Training and the graduating students are to take their licensure examination next year. One fourth-year student, BSCA Validating Exam Topnotcher, Janell Alba shared her motto as, ‘work smarter, not harder’.

Groups 6,1, and 8, were awarded the first, second, and third, consecutively. The cash prizes are to be granted during the webinar on customs documentation and procedures which is their next event.

Wrapping up the event, Harbors’ Club adviser, Mr. Carlo Rosco, forwarded his word of thanks for the successful day, despite months of planning.

“I look forward to events like this. Kasi possible, sa future career niyo, makakasalimuha niyo pa rin yung mga ka-trabaho niyong nasa same field. Enjoy-in niyo lang ngayon, kasi next year, nasa susunod na kayong stage ng pag-aaral niyo.” Mr. Rosco mentioned.

Cryptic posts of completing Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation - Completed Classroom Instructions (BSMT-CCI) students bombarded Facebook due to cheating incident during validating exams, on April 19, 2024.

A photo of a screenshot of the alleged answer key on the validating exam is even circulating on Facebook posts and comment sections.

“We know what y’all did. Better to play fair and lose, than win by CHEATING.” One BSMT-CCI student in his Facebook post, April 19.

The said student was among the many other competing BSMT-CCI cadets who were dismayed after being aware of the incident.

In an interview with the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) Engr. Armelfa Olea regarding the said issue, they are already doing further investigation on this.

“We are conducting a further investigation on this matter. One thing is for sure. Mananagot ang dapat na managot. We’ll base the consequences sa ating student manual.” she said.

In addition, to reclaim the academic integrity of the Academic Office, all completing BSMT students will have a retake exam, synchronously, at MPCF Multi-purpose Complex on April 29, 2024, from 8:00 AM onwards.

Engr. Olea also emphasized that no BSMT students shall receive academic distinctions concerning the top scorers of the Validating Exam on their graduation.

“Wala nang magkakaroon ng academic awards connected sa Validating Exam sa BSMT ngayong taon. Ang BSMARE, BSCA, BSNAME, at CSMC lang ang meron,” Engr. Olea mentioned.

As such, the Disciplinary Officer, Capt. Jay-ar Oleon stressed that students should now stop their allegations regarding the said matter as it drags the names of the persons who may or may not be involved in the incident.

“Tumigil na tayo sa pag spread at post tungkol sa issue na ‘to. Kami na ang bahala, under investigation pa kasi.” He stated.

Although, one thing is for sure, as confirmed by Capt. Oleon. There are no students belonging to any organization concerned in the said leakage of the answer key.

The validating examination is an examination that will test the completing students. The results of this will determine if they can join the graduation ceremony, therefore ready and fully equipped for their future.

Mariners' Canaman, in collaboration with Stella Maris Manila School Program spearheaded a Values Enrichment Seminar (VES) for completing BSMT-CCI, BSMarE-CCI, and CSMC students on April 17, 2024, at MPCF Multi-purpose Complex.

The speakers, Rev. Fr. Paulo H. Prigol, CS, the Director & Chaplain of Stella Maris- Manila, Sr. Victoria G. Sanchez-Coordinator, and Mrs. Evelyn A. Del Rosario focused on sharing personal awareness among students regarding strengthening their personal values and ethical standards as future seafarers.

Stella Maris - Manila is a duly registered charitable service provider in the Philippines under the name, ‘Apostolatus Maris Seafarers’ Center Incorporation’. They aim to help the Filipino seafarers and their families.

Marineras attended a self defense seminar, “Safety in Every Stride,” and a practical training with the Canaman Police Department as presided by the Corps of Midshipmen (COM), on April 16, 2024, at Jaime’s Hall.

To kick-off the program, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Engr. Almelfa Olea set forth her opening remarks by acknowledging the women enrolled in Mariners Canaman who partook in the event.

“In order for you all to be safe, you have to know what is happening around you, because this will be [your] profession, especially to those who will be onboard, this is very rampant, maritime is a man's world and you have to equip yourself and be prepared.” Engr. Almelfa Olea said.

PSSG Ruel Beraña, a representative from the Canaman Police Department, tackled the topic of arresting techniques used by them with an actual dramatization; they addressed the contents including the verbal command, use of force, and handcuffing.

Moreover, Mr. Beraña also discussed how the participants can seize the perpetrators without a warrant through a ‘citizen’s arrest’, which entails a legal action only used in special cases. This was tackled to give the audience power in case of unwanted instances.

Patrolman Mario N. Bueno and PSSG Beraña proceeded with practical training, participants were partnered in two and started hand and scaping wrist grabs defense mechanism, with a practical enactment that the audience can follow. Then, two aggressive shoulder grab escapes were another self-defense technique taught to the participants.

In addition, techniques against hair grabbing, back grabbing, and defending chokes on the ground were also trained and practiced respectively.

Midshipwomen Elijah Serrano and Peya Caganda demonstrated their throwing, a back self-defense technique, and skills upfront, whereas the male participants also were given a chance to demonstrate with the officers themselves.

In an interview with Angel Alyssah Dizon, first year, from the Cruise Ship Management Course (CSMC) program, she said that this is a relevant capability that they should learn to protect themselves nowadays.

“Maganda ‘to kasi natututunan namin na protektahan ang sarili namin, and ayon nga, sa panahon ngayon, madami nang nabibiktima na babae, kaya importante talaga ‘to,” Angel said.

She also added that this is a crucial skill that they could share to give safeness to others. “Maganda rin ‘to kasi tinuturuan kami ng iba’t-ibang strategy para maprotektahan namin sarili namin, at saka pwede rin namin itong i-share sa family namin, sa friends, sa kapatid ko, at sa iba pa.”

All of the strategies were carried out smoothly by the participants, and this orientation was also a great way for them to get to know each other while emphasizing the power of women on one another.

This event was also used to remind them to be vigilant and inform them that all are susceptible to being a victim. The seminar helped to give crucial skills needed for personal protection in a variety of events and unforeseen scenarios.

Furthermore, this also serves to provide empowerment and acknowledgement of women in the maritime world at Mariners’ Canaman.

Social Security System (SSS) is conducting an on-site registration open for all students, today, April 15, 2024, in the hallway of the ELJ 1 Building, in front of the former Guidance Office.

Mr. Gerome De Silva, a Senior Analyst from SSS Naga City branch, personally attends to answer all the student concerns regarding the application. As such, the said registration shall last until 5:00 PM today.

This initiative allows students to prepare their documents that are vital after graduation for future employment.

𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗔 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 | Midn. Ashley Shervin Buenavente and Midwn. Angel Delos Reyes are set to showcase their prowess in archery and swimming respectively, as they represent the Camarines Sur and Mariners’ Canaman in the Regional Level of Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Sporting Events.

Buenavente and Delos Reyes are both Senior High Students of Mariners' Canaman. The PRISAA Regional Meet will take place at Sorsogon City from April 12-14, 2024.

May the winds guide Ashley’s arrows and may Angel’s strokes propel her to new heights. Best of luck Dolphins!

To create opportunities after academics, an inter-island company, Archipelago Philippine Seafarers Training Institute, Inc. (APSTII) orients graduating students, today, April 12, 2024, at MPCF Multi-purpose Complex.

This event is exclusive to graduating students from BSMARE (BS Marine Engineering), BSMT (BS Marine Transportation), and CSMC (Cruise Ship Management Course) interested in being part of the said company.

According to 2/M Alexander M. Aco, OBT (Onboard Training) Officer, APSTII will accept and open their doors for aspiring cadets who want to spend their OBT domestically after today's orientation.

"After nito, ma-start na sila mag accept ng mga kadete na mag-a-apply sakanila. Maganda ‘to kasi sila na mismo ang pumunta dito, 'di na mahihirapan ang mga estudyanteng maghanap pa kung saan ma-OBT," he said.

APSTII is an industry-leading provider of maritime onboard training in the Philippines.

Today marks the conclusion of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan, which serves as one of the major holidays celebrated by the Muslims worldwide, today, April 10, 2024. Eid al-Fitr is an Arabic word for “the celebration of breaking the fast".

This celebration emphasizes the solemnity of their tradition, spirituality, and abstinence. Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset while spending time in self-reflection and prayer.

Despite differences in culture and traditions, the Seafarers' Gazette expresses their sympathy to the Muslim community worldwide in honoring this revered holy feast.

Let us all join together and pray for inclusive, all-encompassing peace, unity, and freedom.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗽𝗶 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴

In celebration of the Lenten Season and Women’s Month, a film showing the Passion of Christ entitled, “The Mission” was held last March 23, 2024 at MPCF-Canaman Jaime’s Hall.

The said film, produced by Archdiocese of Caceres with director Mr. Ferdie Dimadura, was sponsored by the two campuses, Mariners’ Canaman and Legazpi with President and CEO, Dr. Marilissa Jimenez-Ampuan; and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Evita Jimenez-Tuazon as their Gender and Development (GAD) advocacy.

Along with them, the event was co-sponsored by MARYED, with Mr. Edgar Esplana who provided the LED wall screen and sounds; Commission on Higher Education SED team (CHED-SED); Women in Maritime (WIMA); Research and Development Office (RDO); Tabang Bikol Movement (TBM); and Community Extension Services Office (CESO).

Various organizations also attended such as the WIMA Legazpi, The Seafarers’ Gazette, Mariners’ Community Volunteers (MaCoVo), Dragonboat Team, Mariners’ Industry Sponsored Cadets (MIS), Corps of Midshipmen (COM), and National Service Training Program - Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS).

Afterwards, a reflection through ‘Ihayag an Sadiri’ was conducted as a cultural expression in relation with the theme of National Women’s Month, ‘Investing in women, accelerate progress’ through various forms of song, dance, spoken poetry, essay, and 'tigsik.'

Mariners’ Community joins in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, March 27, 2024 at MPCF Field.

The earthquake drill was spearheaded by Engr. Aldrin Velasco, the safety officer also the General Services Office (GSO) head along with the cooperation of PNP Canaman and Mariners’ Red Cross Youth Council (MRCYC).

Furthermore, the said drill aims to ensure the safety of people in times of calamity, especially earthquakes.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗠𝗣𝗖𝗙 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗗𝗔 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

In celebration of 16th Private Schools' Day - Selected students from various private schools gather and showcase their performances in 3rd District Literature, Music, and Dance (LitMusDa) Elimination with the theme, “Private schools as catalysts in rebuilding, enriching and sustaining quality education” last March 21, 2024 at MPCF Gymnasium.

Over 20 private schools in the 3rd District participated and competed in different categories from Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior and Senior High School students, wearing their best costumes and props.

The elimination consisted of various contests such as coloring, pagsulat ng sanaysay, essay writing, poster making, sabayang pagbigkas, jazz chant, vocal solo, modern dance, speech choir, storytelling, choral and poem recitation, hip-hop, and folk dance.

The winners shall compete on the Division Level on April 4, 2024, Kindergarten and Elementary; and April 5, Junior and Senior High School at Robinsons’ Mall, Naga City.

Litmusda is an annual event of private schools that aims to develop the skills, competence, and camaraderie of every individual for their future career.

In a remarkable display of journalistic excellence, five staffers of The Seafarers’ Gazette bagged awards at the recently concluded Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) 2024 with the theme "Al and Ethics, Shaping the Future of Journalism in the Digital Age" held on March 19-21, 2024, at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City, Camarines Sur.

Competing against various schools across Luzon specifically, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), all contestants from The Seafarers’ Gazette were hailed winners, clinching the following awards:

Bicol representative crowns as Ms. Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) 2024 last March 20, 2024 at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City.

Ma. Krissoula M. Apin is the newly crowned Ms. LHEPC 2024 who is a writer from The Seafarers' Gazette and a student of Bachelor of Science of Customs Administration (BSCA) department.

During the coronation, she outwitted 13 candidates, each representing various regions in Luzon, specifically: Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

In addition, she also garnered the following minor awards:

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | Staffers from The Seafarers' Gazette along with other delegates from various regions in Luzon attend in the 19th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) with theme, "AI and Ethics: Shaping the Future of Campus Journalism in the Digital Age" today, March 19, 2024, at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City.

With over 850 participants from seven regions in Luzon and one in Visayas have gathered in the said event.

This venture aims to develop camaraderie, interpersonal, and interpersonal skills through the series of lectures on various events. The said event shall end with an awarding of the winners on March 21, 2024.

𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗔 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 | Mariners’ Blue Dolphins shows excellence in the provincial PRISAA athletic games

Athletes of Mariners’ Canaman show excellence in shot put, discus, and athletics, attaining gold, silver, and bronze during the provincial Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA), yesterday, March 9, 2024, at Metro Naga Sports Complex, Pacol, Naga City.

On shot put, players from Mariners’, Midn. Nathaniel Flores and Midn. John Harold Ruslin, from Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering Department, gripped and flung the shot put shots farther, showing the strength of the dolphin against their opponent team, Tigers of Naga College Foundation (NCF).

Moreover, both competed in the game of discus throwing. The Dolphins undertook to hold the best score, but still, the opponents threw the heavy disc that marked the greatest distance on the field.

Simultaneously, Midn. Dennis Archivido Jr. of Marine Engineering Department, ran in 100 meter dash and 200 meters in athletics events. The sole participants of Mariners on athletics showed prowess over the tigers and sprinted the field with the speed of a dolphin. Midn. Archivido was close to taking a bronze placer, yet his opponents were rapid, making him 4th place in both events.

However, Midn. Archivido once more entered another event, 400 meters in athletics. Despite having less preparation, Mariners’ Canaman garnered bronze in this event.

Nakikiisa ang The Seafarers' Gazette, kasama ang iba’t ibang student organizations at ang buong Mariners' community, sa panawagan ng Philippine Association of Maritime Institutions (PAMI) at ng mga miyembro nito na tuluyan nang ibasura ang Magna Carta for Seafarers Chapter 18 o MCFS 18.

Bagama't kinikilala ng aming publikasyon ang kahalagahan ng Magna Carta for Seafarers upang mas matiyak at mapanatili ang disente, makatarungan, at makataong kondisyon ng mga Pilipinong seafarers sa kanilang pagtatrabahuhang kompanya at barko, hindi namin kailanman sasang-ayunan ang MCFS 18 na inuutusan ang lahat ng Maritime Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs), kabilang na ang Mariners' Canaman at Legazpi, na nag-aalok ng Marine Transportation at Marine Engineering programs, na magkaroon ng sariling training ships, bukod pa sa simulators at iba pang kinakailangang facilities.

Mapanganib ang panukalang ito para sa kinabukasan ng sektor ng mga Pilipinong seafarers lalo na sa kinabukasan ng mga nangangarap maging marino. Ayon sa kasalukuyang presidente ng PAMI na si Sabino Czar Manglicmot II, maaaring tumaas ang matrikula hanggang P200,000.00 kada taon. Sobrang laki nito para matugunan ng ating mga magulang at ng mga nagpapaaral sa atin. Nahihirapan na nga ang mga mahihirap, pahihirapan pa.

At kung wala nang mga estudyanteng makakapag-aral, ano na ang magiging epekto nito sa ating mga paaralan? Hindi mabubuhay ang isang institusyon nang walang mag-aaral. Naniniwala kami na pukpuksa ang MCFS 18 ng maraming maritime schools at manning agencies sa bansa dahil hindi na nila kakayaning makipagsabayan sa lahat ng magiging gastusin kung maipapasa na ito.

Tinatanggalan lamang nito ng pag-asa ang mga kabataang Pilipino na gustong maging isang marino. At sa posibleng pagbawas ng mga estudyante, unti-unti rin nitong pupuksain ang imahe ng Filipino seafarers sa mundo.

Nawa'y huwag isawalambahala ang iba pang miyembro ng maritime sector. Marami ang maapektuhan sa bansa.
