Merong Question:
Pwede daw bang i-graft ang balete sa argao? Parang bayabas sa mangga lang yan.

Opinion ko: Para makasigurado, search mo ang scientific name (i.e. Genus Specie) (e.g. Premna microphylla). Kapag pareho ang "Genus", like "Premna odorata" to "Premna microhylla", compatible sila i-graft.

A customer asked me how much it cost to buy my fully-developed bonsai.

𝗠𝗲: 10,000php po. Half the price bec I want you to start the hobby with the right footing.
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: Masyado namang mahal, tapos, maliit lang? Medium sized?
𝗠𝗲: How much do you think it would cost you?
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: 3,000php maximum... Madali lang naman yon diba?! Bunot ka lang ng maliit na tree tapos wire lang.
𝗠𝗲: hmm puwede naman ikaw nalang gumawa
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: Pero hindi ko alam kung paano...
𝗠𝗲: For 1,000php tuturuan kita for 10 sessions, nakasave ka pa ng 9,000php. You'll get the knowledge na kailangan mo.
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: Sige, pwede na din.
𝗠𝗲: But to get started: May mga kailangan tayong gamit:

‌Bonsai wire: P550/kilo
Bonsai tools P1,000 per piece. Youll need the basics. Branch cutter, branch splitter, wire cutter, bonsai saw, trimmer, ordinary long nose pliers (P88)
Fertilizers P140/kilo
Lime sulfur P500/500ml bottle
Terracotta Pot P500
Bonsai material P500
Riversand medium P50
Turntable P100
Rotary tool for shari/jin detailing P2,500
Torch blower P500 for shari/jin detailing
And as you progress with the bonsai development, you'll be needing branch bender P500, Freehand router or power carving tool or die grinder P3,500, pruner, k**b cutter, etc.
All in all, it's P8,000
Nakatipid ka pa ng P1,000.

𝗠𝗲: I forgot to mention, you also have to factor in and pay to the utility company for the productive factors like water & electricity for 10 years. Electricity? Because you'll like working on your bonsai at night than on daytime. Daming distractions at mainit sa daytime. You'll need electric fan too while working on it even at night. Mga P3,000 in 10 years ang part ng bill mo sa kuryente at tubig ng bonsai.
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: Totoo ba?
𝗠𝗲: Internet connection, gusto mo ng sounds havabg naggagawa, power tools, etc.
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: 1,000 sa turo ng 10 sessions, 8,000 sa tools ng stuff, 3,000 sa utilities for 10 yrs. P12,000 na. Hindi ko pa na compute pagod mo at bayad sa taga dilig kung bakasyon kayo ng pamilya. Eh, bayad ng bonsai artist pa, kung busy ka sa work at nawalan ka ng panahon sa bonsai mo.
Konti nalang din naman ang idadagdag mo kung ikaw na pala gumawa.

Customer: Bilhin ko na lang sa 10k. Naka-mura pa pala ako. Wala pa dun bayad sa effort at time mo for q0 years.
