Happy Ghav Day!

One of the longest staying members of our school paper, Ghav has been serving our studentry through journalism even before the pandemic era. Known for her lively personality, she has been known by her fellow staffers as their friendly 'ate'. Through the years, she has provided compelling thoughts about various issues inside and outside SMSI through her opinion articles. These were more than enough to prove her capability as the editor-in-chief of TYCS for this school year.

Taal Volcano eruption affects SMSI

Today marks the fourth year of Taal Volcano's major eruption as of this 21st century. Thick blankets of ashes covered areas of Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and even NCR. Of course, SMSI's location is not spared from the effects of the eruption.

Days later after the eruption, classes were cancelled, while the remaining days were used for ashfall cleanup.

However, things got worse, as two months later, classes were stopped by the Covid-19 pandemic which lasted for three years.

We are incredibly grateful to all of the stakeholders who have been helping our school and the school paper as we end this year.

Sincere thanks to all Southhillians for reading and understanding our content since our birth in 2014, be it physical, digital, or on social media.

We especially thank the writers, editors, and creatives who have contributed to making our school paper harder (in pressing school-affecting issues) better, faster (in delivering information), and stronger.

Also, thanks to our faculty and admin, as we the TYCS staffers are empowered by your leadership.

And let's not forget to thank the reason for the season, Jesus. Everything will not be possible without Him.
