The Beginnings of e-Learn ala Filipino
In 2004, a widowed mother had no choice but to homeschool two of her younger children. Elementary mathematics is a subject best taught with visual aids and animation. Equipped with some PowerPoint animation skills, the mother decided to present the arithmetic lessons using a self-made animated visual learning material. The teaching tool worked! Then the animated learning material was shared to other homeschooling moms but fate did not favor online presence undertaking that early in time. Fast forward. In 2010. Engineer Mariano got a book writing stint for an American publishing company and discovered www.udemy.com. She joined in 2012 and successfully published her own e-learning course that got LIVE on 2014. 19 e-learning courses got stalled and is awaiting full production. Soon, all these courses and more will be launched. Just a little more patience and some sourcing, global learners will enjoy the best learning materials one can find in the internet.
