This semester has made memorable steps towards the pursuit of brilliance and excellence in channeling their nurtured skills. Let us look back and navigate the success the organizations have accomplished the past few months.

The Xavier Campus Esports and Entertainment Development (XCEED) competed against other teams from different schools, hailed champion of the Alliance Games during the Mindanao Inter-School Tournament held last January 20-21 at Robinsons Valencia, and was bound for Manila for the National Level of Alliance Games held by AcadArena. In their passion for gaming, they have persevered and showed the community how Xavier University can compete in the esports scene.

Last January 19-24, The Xavier Debate Circle showcased outstanding prowess at the 8th Mindanao Intervarsity, clinching multiple prestigious awards. A resounding applause goes to Steven Siawan and Sam Unabia, who emerged as the champions of the 8th Mindanao Intervarsity, securing not only the victory but also recognition as the best speakers of the tournament. Additionally, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of Reine Julia Madriaga and Aries Paye, who earned the esteemed title of Open Grandfinalists. Ms. Madriaga's exceptional skills also earned her the Overall Best Speaker award, while Ms. Aries was recognized as the 9th Best Speaker. These many victories brought pride to the university and continuing their everlasting mark in the debate scene.

The College of Nursing has faced ongoing issues regarding policies on wearing the hijab during duties, affecting several Muslim students over the years. Various university organizations, alongside SIRAJ-MRO, have advocated for inclusivity and religious rights. On January 19, the CSG invited the University President for a dialogue with SIRAJ-MRO and the College of Nursing to address this issue.

At the end of the dialogue, an interim guideline would be implemented in the second semester, allowing female Muslim nursing students to wear the hijab during RLE classes without sanctions. Further discussions were made to establish policy changes, including a uniform designed for female Muslim student nurses. This would be a momentous step towards equality with our Muslim sisters which would not be possible without the initiation with the SIRAJ-MRO and the CSG

On February 3, 2024, the Xavier University Glee Club enchanted guests with a captivating performance at the Magnificat concert in the XU Immaculate Conception church. The event featured John Rutter's Magnificat, completed in 1990, exploring themes of gratitude, joy, and faith. The XU Glee Club presented two parts: a musical voyage language of stars, and the second part consisted of the songs in Magnificat.

In this first highlight, the students of Xavier University not just showed their ability to compete on a local and national level, but also embracing the spirit of Magis.
