FREQUENTLY ASKED INFORMATION
A. Historical Information about WU-P Graduate School
Dr. Roxy Lefforge, the institution's third President, was the driving force behind the establishment of Wesleyan University-Philippines Graduate School. It was created immediately after she took office in 1952, in partnership with several Methodist members who saw the need for an advanced course in education. The Graduate School's operations began during the second semester of the academic year. In 1952-1953, there were thirty pupils. Today, the Graduate School is a symbol of higher education in Central Luzon, and it is the oldest Graduate School in Region III.
B. GRADUATE SCHOOL OBJECTIVES AND PHILOSOPHY BASED ON CMO 15 S. 2019
As a unit of Wesleyan University-Philippines, the Graduate School aims toward the holistic development of persons and professionals, the expansion of knowledge through scholarly research, and the innovation of initiatives and strategies that address the needs of society.
Graduate programs as advanced academic journeys focus on a specific or interdisciplinary academic discipline or profession that basically adheres to the following principles and objectives: 1. Thorough assessment of one's output and interactions with peers and instructors; 2. Gaining professional experience through teaching, research, internships, and the creation of original research or creative work. Graduate programs should give students the chance to learn in order to become experts or practitioners in their field of study, capable of proposing solutions and assisting with the development of their respective institutions. Students should also be able to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills and develop their critical and creative thinking abilities.
