My story as an artist began in 2020, at a time when the world was forced to pause. The pandemic lockdown brought uncertainty and stillness, and along with it, I struggled with anxiety. During that time, I was living alone—far from my husband who was locked down in Manila, and far from my family as well. The distance, the isolation, and the silence weighed heavily on me. Yet in the middle of that loneliness, I discovered something unexpected: painting.
With no formal background in art, I picked up a brush simply out of curiosity, not knowing that this small step would lead me into a passion that would reshape my life. In those early days, painting became both my refuge and my therapy. Each canvas became a companion, a space where I could pour my emotions and transform my struggles into something meaningful. Colors replaced words, and creativity helped soften the heaviness of being alone.
For three years, I painted in silence, creating privately and allowing myself to grow. In 2023, I found the courage to share my work with the world. I started selling my pieces online, and it was both terrifying and exciting. Every time someone connected with my art, it felt like they were connecting with a piece of my soul. That was when I realized that my paintings could not only express my journey but also reach others who needed to see hope and beauty.
In 2024, life blessed me with another calling—motherhood. I became pregnant and gave birth, a transformative experience that changed the way I see the world. Balancing sleepless nights, endless love, and new responsibilities with my passion for art hasn’t always been easy, but it has given my creativity a deeper purpose. My paintings now carry not just my emotions, but also the strength, tenderness, and resilience that motherhood has taught me.
Alongside this personal journey, I was also honored to join a group exhibit at SM City Butuan, an opportunity that allowed me to share my art in public space and connect with more people who value creativity and expression.
Today, I continue to paint and share my work, not only as an artist but also as a mother, a dreamer, and a woman who found her voice through art. My journey is proof that beauty can bloom even in the most difficult seasons of life. What began as a quiet escape during lockdown has grown into a lifelong path—one where each brushstroke tells a story of growth, healing, love, and perseverance.
When you collect my art, you carry with you not only colors and forms but also pieces of my story—my resilience, my joy, my struggles, and my journey as a woman and a mother. It is my hope that my art brings warmth, connection, and inspiration to your own story.
