White lauan (๐๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐) is a large tree reaching up to 50 meters high and 182 centimeters in diameter and a clear length of 15 to 20 meters. Old trees are strongly buttressed.
The crown is flatโ irregularโ and open. The leaves are simpleโ alternateโ and ovate in shapeโ acuminate at the apexโ rounded at the baseโ and smooth. Secondary nerves have six pairs that are prominent and further apartโ a characteristic that distinguishes it from other species. The blade is 10 to 14.5 centimeters long.

White lauan is endemic to the Philippines. It is a common and widely distributed species of the dipterocarpaceae in the countryโ including in Babuyan Island and in many provinces in Luzon from Cagayan to Sorsogonโ Polilloโ Marinduqueโ and in Masbate; Cebu; Samar; Leyte; Negros; Sibuyan; Palawan; and Basilan in lowland forests.
