Ezra 8:21 - 9:15 👉 Chapter 8, Verse 22 - For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen[a] to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king, “Our God’s hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.”

God honors those who look to Him with humility and faith. When we place our confidence in His protection, He shows Himself faithful, guiding and shielding us as we walk in His will.

This verse reminds us to lean on God's strength rather than humans. Just like Ezra recognized it's important to depend solely on God for protection and guidance. He chose not to seek help from the king and only believed that God would honor his faith.

1 Corinthians 5:1-13 👉 Verse 7 - Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

The "old yeast," symbolizes sin and impurity. This verse calls us to remove our sins and impurities, so we can live as the new creation we are in Christ. Through His sacrifice, Jesus, our Passover Lamb, has already made us clean.

The call to holiness is not just about avoiding sin but embracing our identity in Christ. It’s a daily invitation to leave behind the old patterns and walk in the freedom Christ has provided, reflecting His purity and grace in all we do.

1 Corinthians 4:1-21 👉 Verse 7 - For what gives you the right to make such a judgment? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?

This verse reminds us that everything we have - our abilities, gifts, and even the opportunities we experience are blessings we didn’t create ourselves - they are from God.

We are not self-made; we are the product of God's grace and provision. Instead of boasting or feeling entitled, let us humbly thank God for His provision and use what He has given to serve others, and honor Him.

Ezra 3:1 - 4:23 👉 Chapter 3, Verse 11 - With praise and thanks, they sang this song to the Lord: “He is so good! His faithful love for Israel endures forever!”

When the Israelites were in the midst of efforts to rebuild the temple of God, they paused to celebrate God's goodness and love.

As we rebuild and restore areas of our lives, still celebrate each milestone with gratitude. Even when the journey is long and the work is challenging, God’s love remains constant and unfailing. God's love will guide and sustain us through every step of our own restoration.

1 Corinthians 2:6 - 3:4 👉 Chapter 2, Verse 9 - That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

God's plans and purposes for our lives go far beyond anything we can imagine. This truth reassures us that our understanding is limited, but God's vision is perfect. He holds a future for us that surpasses our wildest dreams—both in this life and in eternity.

Our part is to truthfully love Him and trust in His goodness, as He is preparing something far greater than we can see now.

Ezra 1:1 - 2:70 👉 Chapter 1, Verse 5 - Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of the Lord.

When God stirs hearts, He moves His people into action. He moves us to action when it's time to rebuild what's broken, whether in our own lives or the lives of others.

When God calls us, He prepares and equips us for the work ahead, filling us with His purpose. Just as He moved the hearts of the Israelites to restore His temple, He stirs our hearts to build and restore our lives and communities according to His will.

Are we ready to respond when He moves us?

Waiting patiently for the Lord is a deep act of faith and trust that often requires great courage and strength. It means letting go of control and trusting that everything will happen according to God's plan, even when the answers aren't clear. Being brave and strong during this waiting time means facing uncertainties and difficulties with a steady heart, knowing that God's timing and wisdom are greater than our own.

1 Corinthians 1:18 - 2:5 👉 Chapter 1, Verse 25 - This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

What appears weak or foolish to the world, like the message about the cross, is God's power and wisdom. Through the cross, God turned the world’s expectations upside down, revealing that true strength lies not in human efforts, but in surrender to His perfect plan.

This verse will remind us that even when we don’t understand God’s ways, He is infinitely wiser than we can comprehend. His wisdom guides us when we acknowledge the limits of our own understanding.

(NLV) Psalms 26:1-12
1 O Lord, stand by me for I have lived my life without blame. I have trusted in the Lord without changing. 2 Test me and try me, O Lord. Test my mind and my heart. 3 For Your loving-kindness is always in front of my eyes. And I have walked in Your truth. 4 I do not sit with men who lie about the truth. I would not be seen with those who pretend to be someone they are not. 5 I hate the meeting of sinners, and will not sit with the sinful. 6 I will wash my hands of any guilt. And I will go around Your altar, O Lord. 7 I will speak with the voice of thanks, and tell of all Your great works.

8 O Lord, I love the house where You live, the place where Your shining-greatness lives. 9 Do not take my soul away with sinners, or my life with men who kill other people. 10 Sinful plans are in their hands. And their right hand is full of pay for hurting others. 11 But as for me, I will live a life without blame. Make me free, and show me loving-kindness. 12 My foot stands on a good place. I will give honor to the Lord, in the meeting of worship.
