As we approach the end of Year 2023, and welcome another year 2024, let us reflect on the thoughts, words and actions that we have done.
There were so many very memorable events that have happened to us this year 2023; so many ups and downs. There were times that we felt elated because of the achievements of our students, alumni and colleagues in competitions and board examinations, but we also felt grief due to the demise of some of our friends and relatives due to the pandemic and/or other causes. We stumbled, we fell, but just like the phoenix, we have continuously risen from the ashes. On a personal note, we have also experienced the rainbow of life…in other words, all the colors of life as we went about our daily activities.
For all of the blessings of Year 2023 given to all of us, let us thank the Good Lord! Let us be very grateful for the wonderful and not so wonderful moments we have shared with other people. No one knows what this next year has in store for us, but we just hope for the best…as the best is yet to come. As Queen Anna said and I quote, “take a step forward and just do the next right thing.”
On this wonderful season of the year, I wish you all happiness, good health, joy and fun...Nobody knows the exact birth date of Jesus, the Only Son of God, but I hope that at this joyous time, let us reflect on the essence of the coming of the Messiah.
Saan a naiyanak iti mansion no saan ketdi nga iti uneg ti kulluong, (He was not born with a silver spoon inside a mansion but in a lowly manger) as if he had no worth at all. He was sent by God the Father Almighty to the world so he could identify with the human heart of man. Ket impaayna ti kakaisuna a biagna a kas sakripisyo (He offered His life as sacrifice), offering a better plan. Jesus’ birthday is not a day or season but a condition of heart and mind. It is filled of special joy; it is the time when you feel blessed and you feel so close to the people you love.

Three points to ponder upon today based on the scriptures:

1. God does not impose His Word on us. (Parable of the Sower)

2. God’s grace is always available but we must ask and work for it through nurturance and perseverance. Receipt of such grace is based on our acceptance. Do we belong to that fertile ground category?

3. When we trek the road to paradise, there are always roadblocks, detour signs, mudslides, landslides,unexpected thunderstorms, earthquakes, smogs, slippery roads, twists and turns, blind curves... thus, we need to travel with caution. Let us hold hands together and let God be the leader, driver, captain, pilot and guide of our group, and transport vehicle. So, fasten your seat belts and hold on ...❤️🙏
