This novel initiative, a sister school of Kalumboyan National High School (KNHS), is part of a pilot program in Region VII, joining forces with Banaybanay NHS and Minaba NHS to integrate agricultural education into the curriculum.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Dr. Anelito A. Bongcawil, SDS of Bayawan City, Dr. Christopher U. Bantog, EPS (Education Program Supervisor), Mrs. Marites Magdasal, EPS in TLE, Mr. Argie A. Pinanonang, EPS and former School Principal of KNHS, and Dr. Addam T. Estose, PSDS of District 7.
Various EPS, PSDS, Division Personnel, City Council members, and representatives from the Department of Agriculture were also in attendance.
Among the noteworthy City Council attendees were Hon. Henry Carreon, Jr, City Vice Mayor, City Counselors, Hon. Rusmar Tijing, Hon. Rolando Abrasaldo, Hon. Luis Sumalpong, and Hon. Mark Fidencio Aurelia, while Engr. Kenneth Artes, Agriculturist, represented the City Agriculture Office.
The establishment of the Rural Farm School was made possible through collaboration with key partners, including Mrs. Evangeline Cadapan and Mr. Michael Cadapan, owners of the Land School Farm Site, Mr. Luis Magsipoc, Kagawad Pedrito Langga, Jr, Mr. Glowel Cadapan, Kagawad Jessie Reyes, and Dr. Sergio Avestruz III with a farm partnership.
Brgy. Council members Kagawad Geraldine Magno, Kagawad Melbon Cadapan, and Kagawad Mary Ann Lamis also graced the event, reflecting local community support.
Speakers at the launch included Mr. Pinanonang for Opening Remarks, Dr. Bongcawil providing the Rationale, Hon. Tijing delivering a meaningful message, and Mrs. Magdasal acknowledging everyones effort for the success of the event.
Mr. Glowel Cadapan, Teacher-in-Charge for the Rural Farm School, Mr. Anastacio Hisona, HPTA President, KNHS Faculty and Staff, parents, and a total of 94 enrolled students in the Farm School were present to witness this historic event.
