MONASTERIO DE TARLAC | Sacred Relic of the True Cross

📍San Jose, Tarlac

In time for the Holy Week.

One of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Central Luzon, the Monasterio de Tarlac is home to the most revered relic of the True Cross upon which Jesus Christ was crucified and died.

It is located on top of Mount Resurrection, part of the Zambales Mountain Range in San Jose, Tarlac.
It's a 3-hour drive from Manila and is open daily from 7:00AM to 6:00PM with no entrance fee.

The monasterio is also famous with its 30-foot colossal statue of Jesus Christ overseeing the town.

MT. KABUGBUGAN (MT. PURAW) | Bauang, La Union

-- also known as Mt. Puraw—is a great destination for witnessing the spectacular La Union sunrise and sunset. Its peak offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding rivers, rolling hills, layered mountains, and the seascapes of the province. Everything was a sight to behold. It’s something that one can definitely experience on a morning hike, as the mist and early morning colors paint the province. One can witness a dramatic sunset if you opted to hike before the dawn.

Mapita Viewdeck, Daang Katutubo | One of the most scenic roads in the Philippines
📍 Aguilar, Pangasinan

The view from the top is simply BREATHTAKING!
Definitely a must-see place in Pangasinan

Daang Katutubo, isa sa most scenic road at pinakamagandang kalsada sa buong Pilipinas.

Tinawag itong "Daang Katutubo" dahil ang mga nakatira dito ay mga katutubo or indigenous people (IPs). Ang kalsadang ito ay kokonekta sa "Daang Kalikasan" ng Mangatarem Pangasinan hanggang Sta. Cruz, Zambales.

More or less 3 hours ang byahe mula sa Manila, ang best time para bumisita sa Mapita Viewdeck ay 5-5:30 ng umaga on time para sa sunrise.

Mula sa highway ng Aguilar, Pangasinan, 20-30 minutes drive paakyat sa Daang Katutubo, matatagpuan ang Mapita Viewdeck. Makapigil hininga ang ganda dito, makikita ang 360° view ng kabundukan at kapatagan ng Pangasinan at kalapitbayan tulad ng Zambales. Isa ito sa maaring puntahan para magrelax dahil sa ganda ng kalsada at sa ganda ng tanawin.

Immuki Island
📍 Paraoir, Bacnotan, La Union

A hidden paradise of La Union, Immuki Island derived its name from sea slugs or babao which used to be there.
"Babao" is a Pangasinense term for female ge***al or "Uki" in Ilocano.
