Every action, big or small, should aim to bring honor and praise to God.

Paul wrote this to Corinthian Christians, advising them to consider their actions regarding meat sacrificed to idols, ensuring their freedom didn't cause others to stumble into idolatry.

Eating with gratitude and self-control, Working diligently and honestly, Showing hospitality to build community, and Making choices that don't lead others to sin.

My Prayer...

Most holy God, your righteousness and holiness are beyond me. I know that my best efforts are only vain attempts to attain them on my own. Yet I long, dear Father, to be more like you and your Son in every way that it is humanly possible. So, dear Father, I pursue knowing Jesus as my Savior and Lord, living for him, and as much as I can, like him, in my world. As I do, I intentionally partner with the Holy Spirit to see Jesus' love, character, and compassion come alive in me. In the name of Jesus the Righteous One, I pray. Amen.

What does the Bible say about forgiving someone who keeps hurting you?

Unlimited Forgiveness: Jesus told Peter to forgive not just seven times, but "seventy-seven times" (Matthew 18:22), showing endless forgiveness.

Respond, don't react.

This will require you to pause long enough to take the opportunity to think and evaluate. Sometimes, just waiting will add needed perspective. By responding and not just reacting, you exert control over your behavior. Past emotional abuse may have caused you to develop some pretty sensitive buttons that others can inadvertently push without understanding the consequences. Learning this skill will help you respond appropriately, giving your responses greater power and meaning for others.

Forgiving Someone Who Hurt You Deeply!

I’m sorry that you have been hurt. I have been hurt as well. But there is a day coming when everyone will give an account. The righteous will be vindicated, and the wicked will be judged. In the meantime, we can walk in peace. We can walk in joy. We are free to forgive others, to love our enemies, and to freely give mercy to others because our infinite debt has already been paid. When Jesus said, “forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do,” during the crucifixion, there is a sense in which this was said for us. We have sinned against Christ and have been forgiven, so we are free to forgive others.

So give your hurt to Jesus. Give your pain to Jesus. Give your wounds to Jesus. For it is by his wounds that you are healed. And this includes healing for a bitter heart.

Romans 4:20-21 – Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.

He was absolutely sure that God had the power to do what He had promised.

Romans 4:21 means that Abraham had complete, unwavering faith, fully convinced that God was powerful enough to keep His promises, even when humanly impossible, thereby giving glory to God and demonstrating the kind of faith that leads to righteousness.

How Cain killed Abel, and why?

The Bible's story of Cain and Abel, found in Genesis 4, tells of Adam and Eve's first two sons: Cain, a farmer, and Abel, a shepherd, whose differing sacrifices to God led to jealousy and murder. God favored Abel's offering of the firstborn from his flock, but not Cain's offering of crops, making Cain angry. In a jealous rage, Cain lured Abel into a field and killed him, becoming the first murderer, and was then cursed by God to be a restless wanderer, marked and banished from the land.
