𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | 𝗔 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲

In our lives, every ending brings a new beginning.

Graduation is one of the most eagerly anticipated occasions. It is the day for each graduate to celebrate the fruits of their perseverance and hard work for over six years in high school. Everyone is excited to proudly walk up the stage with their loved ones and receive the diplomas that certify they have successfully overcome the challenges they faced. As the graduation march song plays, you will be greeted by the beaming smiles of the graduates, as well as their proud parents and guardians. However, amidst the ceremony, you will witness a mix of emotions where some cannot hold back their tears, as these are the final moments they will spend together. Their lives will be different from what they have known, and most of all, they do not know what their future holds. But what matters is that they know for themselves that they are moving closer to their dreams, to the life they aspire for, and to the days when they can repay the sacrifices made by their parents.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆

"Naghalong ugma buda kamunduan ang namati ko that time na graduation namo" [I felt a mix of joy and sadness during our graduation.] A statement from one of the graduates of the Agban National High School (ANHS) class of 2024, Jessalyn Bonita. "Maugma ako ta nakaabante na kami, natapos na namo ang anom na taon sa high school, lalo pang maugma ta nag-abot na kami sa point na diit na sana maaabot mi na ang mga pangarap namo." [I am happy that we made it, that we finished six years of high school, and even happier that we have reached the point where we are getting closer to our dreams.]

The skyrocketing joy is evident for this graduate because, to this day, their hard work and perseverance over the past six long years have finally paid off. However, she was also saddened because in the six years she spent at her alma mater, they made many memories that can never be revisited, especially now that they are bidding farewell to their second home. "Masakit isipon, kamumundo na hanggang sa ala-ala na lang gabos na mai na namo mabibiradahan, pagkatapos ning graduation yun na yung p**n na magkakabululag kaming magkakalase yung anom na taon namomg yapuntahan ulo aldaw, kaipuhan na namong bayaan, yung mga teacher na nagtuwang saamo buko na yung teachers namo sa masunod na lalaogan." . After graduation, that will be the start of our separation as classmates. The school we went to every day for six years, we now have to leave behind, and the teachers who helped us will no longer be our teachers in the next school year.] reflecting on the inevitable goodbyes.

𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿

For over six long years at ANHS, students learned valuable lessons that they believe will serve them well on the paths they will take. Their experiences also instilled deep lessons and reflections that they can use as they enter new doors.

Jessalyn Bonita shared how she faced hardships during high school, how she overcame them, and how she will apply these experiences to the new chapter she will journey through. "Saro sa mga adal na nanudan ko sa pagiging estudyante ay yong pagtiyaga para sa pangarap na gusto namo. Isi ta man na taga Ginitligan ako halayo sa eskwelahan, ikan talagang time na gabatlay kami paeskwelahan, Grade 7 ako ninyon halos hapon-hapon gabatlay ako kaibahan ko yong mga barkada ko, ikan ning time na nagbatlay na akong sulo ning hapon, simpre babaye delikado magbatlay ning sulo, yong time na yon gusto ko maghibi sa takot ta halayo pa ang paparibodan ko, pero inisip ko na kusugan ang buot ko na magpadagos lang buda mai magpaapekto sa takot nararanasan ko ninyon, kaipuhan ko siyang labanan. Sa pagtiyaga ko nakasampot man ako sa balay ning maayos . Kaya pag asa college na ako, siguro magtiyaga lang Kasi tulad sa high school makakayanan ko to. Dakol ang na matidan ko during my high school life, na matindan ko kung painano magpahalaga sa sarong tawo, kung painano pahalagahan ang pag adal."
One of the lessons I learned as a student is perseverance for the dreams we want to achieve. Coming from Ginitligan, far from school, there were times we walked kilometers away from school. In Grade 7, we walked almost every afternoon with my friends. There was a time when I walked alone in the afternoon. As a girl, it was dangerous to walk alone, and I wanted to cry out of fear as I still had a long way to go. But I thought to strengthen myself, to continue, and not let fear affect me. I needed to fight it. Through perseverance, I safely reached home. So when I'm in college, I'll just persevere because, like in high school, I can get through it. I learned many things during my high school life, including how to value a person and the importance of education.

Every fear and hardship we face can be overcome through perseverance and inner strength, as Jessalyn did. Every storm in our lives brings lessons we can use in new chapters that open for us. These experiences shape us to be more resilient in life.

𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵

Mistakes are an inevitable part of life, and high school is no exception. Jhamica Bodota, another graduate of the ANHS class of 2024, shared an event she deeply regretted. She missed many opportunities she didn't take chances on. "Pig-disregard ko sa mga chances na talagang alam kong kaya ko man pero mai ako nagtake risk para gibuhon yun. It was really a lesson learned from me na talagang dapat pag tinaw'an akong chance sa sarong bagay kaipong kusogan ang boot and mai inoton yung negative thoughts lalo na yung supog."
I disregarded opportunities I knew I could handle but didn't take the risk to take them. It was really a lesson learned that when you're given a chance at something, you need to be strong and not dwell on negative thoughts, especially shame.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

Leaving high school brings a mix of excitement and trepidation.ment and trepidation. "Kakinulog subra na yong dati mo nang nakasanayan nag-abot na yong point na kaipuhan mo mo nang bayaan, makulog sa part na magkakabululag bulag na kami. [It feels overwhelming to leave what you’ve grown accustomed to, reaching the point where you need to let go. It's sad that we will now be separated]," Bonita shares. The much-anticipated graduation ceremony brings not only joy but also sadness because it is the last moment they will be together, and they will now face a new future.

The transition is bittersweet, marked by fond memories and the hope of new beginnings. "Makulog na bayaan ang ANHS sa anom na taon na pagbulo birada ko para makamatid. Ang mas magulog pa yong ikan kami class GC tapos after graduation mai pa ngani naagahan ikan na ning galeft, yong iba mai man lamang nagpasalamat buda nagleft na. Makulog siya sa part na tapos kana sa high school na kaipuhan munang bayaan ang mga nangyari na hanggang sa alala na sana mabibiradahan pa."
We have our class group chat, and after graduation, some leave the chat without leaving any thank-you messages. It's sad that the high school journey is over, and you have to leave behind what happened, hoping to relive it in memories, they lament, yet they are also eager to face the challenges ahead.

𝗔 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀

Teachers play a significant role in shaping students' lives, and for Bonita, one teacher stands out."Saro talaga yong teacher na maski naghari na siya dai ko siya malilingawan yon si ma'am Franz, ang buot ni ma'am buko lang sa ako kundi sa amo sa naging mga aki niya kang uya pa siya sa ANHS." [I will never forget the teacher who, even though she has left ANHS, made a significant impact on me.] That’s Ma'am Franz. Her kindness extended not just to me but to all her students when she was still at ANHS, she said. Ma'am Franz's dedication and support left a lasting impact, particularly during her term as SSLG President.

Through various activities and challenges, this teacher's guidance helped her to develop and hone her leadership skills and personal confidence."Si ma'am ang saro sa mga nagpakusog buot ko maski naghari na siya sa ANHS, sa kada activity namo nagiging successful dahil sa guidance ni ma'am ya-guide niya kami sa tama. Kaya yong last day na ni ma'am Franz sa ANHS habo ko maghiling ki ma'am mai ko napugulan na maghibi, kaya yong mahari na si ma'am mai talaga ako nahiling sa kiya ta gahibi na ako kaya Ang ginibo ni ma'am tinapik niya Yung likod ko para pero makulog man simpre na mahari na siya. Dakol ning mga pangadal si ma'am na mai ko malilingawan.
Saro si ma'am sa nagtabang sa ako na makamatid kung inano maki socialized sa iba kung pano ko aadalan ang sadili ko na mai na masupog. Si ma'am ang saro sa mga nagpakusog buot ko na maaski maghari ako sa ANHS buko na ako yong alog dati na suplon ngonyan iba na kaya ko na maki communicate maski mai ko bisto." Bonita note, expressing gratitude for the encouragement and mentorship she received for Mary Franz Tejada.
[Ma'am is one of those who strengthened me.] Even so, she left ANHS. We did every activity successfully because of her guidance. On Ma'am Franz's last day at ANHS, I couldn't bear to see her leave. I cried. When Ma'am saw me, she patted my back, which, of course, made me cry even more because she was leaving. Ma'am taught me many things that I will never forget.
Ma'am is one of those who helped me learn how to socialize with others and how to improve myself so I wouldn't be so shy. She was one of those who strengthened me. Now, I can communicate even with people I don't know," Bonita notes, expressing gratitude for the encouragement and mentorship she received from Mary Franz Tejada.

𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹

As they bid farewell to the place that has been their second home for six years, Jessalyn Bonita sends a final message of gratitude to everyone who has been part of her journey.

"Inot sa gabos gusto ko magpasalamt sa Diyos sa pagtao ning kusog buot, sa talino na tinao, sa pagpakusog niya perme sa kada laban ning buhay na akong inatubang. Sa pagguide niya sako hanggang ngunyan,
Gusto ko man pasalamatan ang akong mga magulang, tugang, and family na nakasupporta sa ako, sila ang gatao sa ako ning kusog buot na. Kakayanon ko yataw'an nila ako dahilan kung ngata kaipuhan ko maglaban sa hamon ning buhay na maski inano ka sakit makakaya ko, makakaya namo, kaya salamat.
Pantulo sa mga naging teachers namo na nagtais ning sa among kadunungan ngonyan matatalam ko na kung mai sila, mai man tana namo makakamtan Ang bunga ning among pagsisikap dahil sa pagtiyaga nila na matutul'an kami kaya salamat sa mga teacher lalo na sa Senior High School Teachers of ANHS.
Pang apat sa mga naging barkada ko sa mga naging kakalse ko salamat sa pagbuo ning high school life ko salamat sa memories buda pagtutulo sa karanasan na sa sunod na magagamit nato bilang sarong adal salamat sa kada gulo ba mai ko malilingawan.
Especially sa ANHS salamat sa anom na taon na pagpadagos, sa memories na tinao mo na nag-serve bilang among panduwanng balay. Masakit man malingawan nakamundo man na bayaan, pero kaipuhan. Ang ANHS mai ko malilingawan, saro sa eskwelahan na akong pigpadaba. Salamat ANHS hanggang sa muli❤️"
First of all, I want to thank God for giving me strength, wisdom, and continuous support through every challenge in life. For guiding me until now.
I also want to thank my parents, siblings, and family who have supported me. They are the ones who give me strength. I can face the challenges of life because they are there for me, making me believe that I can handle any pain. Thank you.
Third, to our teachers who have patiently imparted their knowledge to us, I can say that without them, we wouldn't have achieved the fruits of our efforts. Thank you to the teachers, especially the senior high school teachers at ANHS.
Fourth, to my friends and classmates, thank you for making my high school life complete. Thank you for the memories and lessons learned that we can use in the future. Thanks for every crazy moment that I will never forget.
Especially to ANHS, thank you for the six years of continuity and for the memories you gave that served as our second home. It’s hard to forget and even harder to leave, but it’s necessary. I will never forget you, one of the schools I have loved. [Thank you, ANHS, hanggang sa muli❤️.]

Graduation marks both an end and a beginning. For the graduates of Agban National High School, it is a time to celebrate achievements, reflect on lessons learned, and step into the next chapter of their lives. As they move forward, the experiences and memories of high school will remain a cherished part of their journey, guiding them as they pursue their dreams.
