09/06/2023

To my beloved sons and daughters,

My joy knows no bounds to see you keeping your flames burning on this lovely day.

It seems like it was only yesterday when you first answered my call to embark on a quest that not all could endure. You have explored and shown more than what you are capable of.

Now, look at yourselves. You are just an arm's length away from your dreams!

Witnessing you all wearing the togas you’ve been yearning for, singing your graduation song much more genuine than before, and marching your ways with pride as you bid your goodbyes. Who would have thought that this day would come? Time surely flies in a blink of an eye, yet I know that we all have our own torch to light, and now is the time for yours to ignite.

To Mark Jeriel Racasag,

The sun, the center of the universe. Great, golden, and glorious.
You are the spearhead of this group. You are the reason we shine. You accompany us in the happiest time of the day and the darkest of the night. Your support is like a golden ray that keeps us alive and guided.

Lighting the torch isn’t impossible with a leader who forges its members to persevere in pursuit of triumph. You are a symbol of what goes beyond a piece of paper and a pen as you light the torch that unveils a path in a labyrinth-like world where words are not just mere words but a voice.

May you forever shine, our brightest sun!

To Bayn Dexter Rose Reyes,

A fire in a lamp—that is a thing that reminds us of you. You accompany us as we do things in the toughest times. You embrace us silently as you support our ideas as we work. With responsibilities coming to you like moths, you are able to shine brightly and dance gracefully.

Words find their way to their own places as if it's their home because of you. Phrases, sentences, and paragraphs will then make sense as the story reveals itself and turns into a masterpiece. The message became clear, like a sky with no clouds. Showing the great skills that you have.

We see you there, a flame that we are able to find clear-shining!

To Vernadeth Bantang,

You are a blue fire, the one who is considered the strongest. Please don't ever tire.

You look so magnificent as you shine, and we can't help but stop and admire. Despite being uncommon, you are the real deal to find. You have proven that your genuine service and commitment don't lie solely in a scoop of your light but are more than you could ever shine. On the path of constant expectations, you have indeed shown that you are an inevitable fighter with passion, commitment, and perseverance.

Be the brightest, oh, our dear blue fire!

To Marielle Saballero,

You are certainly not a fan of "I Think I Can" because you are a walking example of a truism, "I Believe I Can".
You are a star!

The one who is not just shining in the night sky but also the one who is the proudest on stage. In the resonance of darkness, your words and voice serve as an echo of hope, rippling in our hearts as we hear.

We hope you continue to shine even in the millions of miles!

To Caren Nova Sonio,

You have turned emotions into a work of art that greets our very eyes and fills our minds with wonder and delight. With every stroke that discerns a glimpse of humanity, your creation never fails to speak to every part of our soul.

You are like a campfire in the middle of a friend group.
Shining, warm, and relaxing. You are with us as we tell different kinds of stories. You accompany us as we dance, laugh, and cry on this journey. You make things much more bearable with the cold breeze and long, dark nights. You are a fire that makes these memories memorable and hard to forget.

To Jiel Laurente,

Every shot you take reeks of passion and determination to unveil a world in more than black and white. You became the true lens of a camera as you candidly captured a whirlwind series of wonderful moments and a kaleidoscope of memories that will never falter in our hearts and minds.

A forest fire — big, wild, and bold.

The one who doesn't just conform but also seeks. You burn noticeably with the talent that you have. Grow more, our forest fire! Devour everything! Keep the wildfire burning!

To Mayeth De Jose,

An ember who shines like jewels.

In the never-ending whispers with the stench of ignorance, you have cast the denied realities of the world upon the pages. A snippet of words might not be enough to endure the beatings of the world, but you certainly portrayed the beauty of life and hope.
You are a red ember who is concealed in a small fire, and we see you like a star. A woman who will continue to burn and burn until you go to ashes. We wish to call on the wind to continue to burn again.

May you bring a wildfire once again!

To Clint Hector Ibea,

With an unwavering vision of excellence, you have always set the pen into flame, igniting each word until it is seared into the reader’s heart and mind.

You are a candle that we don't want to use for you to stay. But like a force of nature, the way you burn is unstoppable. You burn for everything you are passionate about.

With this, we thank you for the light you gave!

I am the fire that you have been holding in your arms for the past few years. I am the light that seeks to guide the students of the College of Teacher Education. I am the torch that you bear up until now.

As you end this journey in the CTE, we watch in amazement at the persons that you all have become. Just like how you ignited my flames in the past years, we also hope for the best that your life can offer.

As you hold a much bigger torch, always remember that we are always rooting for you and that we are proud of you. Now go and set the world on fire, my beloved torchbearers!

The fire that will continue to burn,

While the past couple of months have been a roller coaster ride, going on a cycle of tiring days and sleepless nights, it also presented us with an opportunity to finally look back on our growth and how far we’ve come.

As the month of May ends, a new chapter is now ready to unfold. A chapter that will open all doors and windows to see a bright tomorrow. We have already gone through hoops, filled a pail of tears, and survived many breakdowns. Indeed, no pain; no gain, and that is what this month is all about. We are halfway there, we only have to hold onto it a little bit for us to clench on our hard-end diploma. Welcome, our radiant month of June.

BSEd English juniors present papers in 2nd FELT Research Colloquium

Banga, Aklan—Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English juniors presented their research papers in the 2nd Future English Language Teacher (FELT) Research Colloquium on Thursday, May 25, 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the College of Teacher Education (CTE) Audiovisual Room.

Vincent R. Enecito expressed how overwhelmed and surprised he was after being named as the Best Presenter with their research paper titled, "Humor as a Teaching and Learning Strategy in a Language Classroom – A Case Study.”

"The preparation that I had was to read and analyze the content of our research well, because if you really know your research, you will never go wrong," Enecito stated.

Enecito also shared tips with those who also wanted to ace their research presentation saying, “The advice that I could give for all the aspiring students who want to ace their research presentation, is first to know your research well and second to never be afraid of putting something new on the table, this means that when you're presenting in front you just have to be yourself, and that would make you stand out from the rest".

Furthermore, the paper authored by Vincent Enecito, along with his co-researchers Khrys Ianah R. Isagan, Caren R. Nagal, and Jim Paul S. Ungsod, was awarded as the Best Research Paper.

A total of twelve (12) research studies related to English language studies were presented during the event, marking the completion of the final requirement for the subject ENG 30 - Language Research, supervised by Dr. Ersyl T. Biray, Course Professor.
