Malacañang declares Friday, 15 July 2022, a special non-working day in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in celebration of the 35th founding anniversary of the region.

CAR was officially created on July 15, 1987 with Executive Order 220 which created CAR as a special temporary administrative region while waiting for ongoing efforts for the establishment of an autonomous region.

GOTAD AD IFUGAO 2022 | The Provincial Local Government Unit releases the activities for the celebration of the 56th Founding Anniversary of the province dubbed as “Gotad ad Ifugao” from June 1 – 19, 2022.

The event will formally start on June 1 with an agri-industrial trade fair at the Lagawe Public Plaza and will be culminated with a Gotad ball, a night of ballroom dancing on June 19.

IN ASIPULO | 54th Infantry (Magilas) Battalion Civil-Military Operations Officer Captain Karol Jay Mendoza reported that their operating troops encountered anew on May 24, 2022 the fleeing Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) at Sitio Timmapaya, Namal, Asipulo.

Recovered during the armed encounter are two rifles 5.56mm (M16A1 and M653), an anti-personnel mine, commercial radio, backpacks and other war materials.

Mendoza stressed that the use of Anti Personnel Land Mines by the CTGs is a clear violation of the Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law which prohibits the use of any land mines in warfare.

On May 23, army troops conducting Focused Military Operations encountered the members of Weakened Guerilla Front-AMPIS in Sitio Likew, Namal.

NCR and 47 other areas to be placed under Alert Level 1 starting March 16

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, placed the National Capital Region, along with 47 other areas, under Alert Level 1, effective March 16, 2022 until March 31, 2022.

Also under Alert Level 1 are: For Luzon: Cordillera Administrative Region: Abra, Apayao, Baguio City and Kalinga; Region I: Dagupan City, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan; Region II: Batanes, Cagayan, City of Santiago, Isabela and Quirino; Region III: Angeles City, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Olongapo City, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales; Region IV-A: Batangas, Cavite, Laguna and Lucena City; Region IV-B: Marinduque, Puerto Princesa City and Romblon; and Region V: Naga City and Catanduanes.

Meanwhile, for the Visayas, the following areas shall be under Alert Level 1: Region VI: Aklan, Bacolod City, Capiz, Guimaras and Iloilo City; Region VII: Cebu City and Siquijor; and Region VIII: Biliran, Ormoc City and Tacloban City.

Finally, for Mindanao, the following areas shall be under Alert Level 1: Region IX: Zamboanga City; Region X: Cagayan de Oro City and Camiguin; Region XI: Davao City; and CARAGA: Butuan City.

The areas not in the abovementioned list shall be under Alert Level 2 beginning March 16, 2022 until March 31, 2022. # #

UPDATE: The province of Ifugao recorded one COVID-19 case and two recoveries on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

The case comes from Banaue while the recoveries are from Lagawe and Lamut.

The provincial health office also disclosed that two Omicron cases were detected in Aguinaldo and Hungduan.

Ifugao now has a total of 11,734 confirmed cases with 11,516 recoveries, 201 deaths and 17 active cases.

NCR and 38 other areas to be under Alert Level 1 beginning March 1

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Sunday, February 27, 2022, approved placing the National Capital Region under Alert Level 1 effective March 1, 2022 until March 15, 2022.

Other areas in Luzon placed under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022 are:

• Abra, Apayao, Baguio City and Kalinga in the Cordillera Administrative Region;

• Dagupan City, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan in Region I;

• Batanes, Cagayan, City of Santiago, Isabela and Quirino in Region II;

• Angeles City, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Olongapo City, Pampanga and Tarlac in Region III;

• Cavite and Laguna in Region IV-A;

• Marinduque, Puerto Princesa City and Romblon in Region IV-B; and

• Naga City and Catanduanes in Region V.

In the Visayas, also under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022 are:

• Aklan, Bacolod City, Capiz and Guimaras in Region VI;

• Siquijor in Region VII; and

• Biliran in Region VIII.

In Mindanao, the following areas are likewise under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022:
