A few years ago, I always asked myself, "how can I even trust people if even through my silence, they always have something to say?"
So I learned to hide everything I have been going through. I never talked about it!
One question that changed my perspective, "If you will not tell me, how will I know?"
Dear friends, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฑ
Even if it takes one person to listen to your story, communicate.
Even if it takes countless courage to do so, communicate.
Even if you do not know how to begin, communicate.
Because the world will never know, unless you speak. Let us slowly learn to have an open dialogue with our friends especially with our family because they also wanted to listen to your story.
"But what if they judge me?"

Comparison is a killer and comprehension is power!
I used to hear other people saying, "buti pa nung panahon namin..." It may be true that during your time, what may be a big problem today is as small as an atom to you but your words alone say it all, "panahon niyo." Your time is 10, 20 or even 30 years ago and why do you have to compare your life a decade or century ago from this generation?
The young people are not saying that we are more superior than you because in the end, you indeed have a lot more experience than us. All we are saying is for our loved ones and community to open their hearts to see through our time as well and to offer us an open ear to listen, comprehend and accompany us in our journey.
May your words of wisdom as our experienced elders truly embody constructive feedback and inspiration, not destructive and deadly criticisms.
Let us start to advocate for an environment that includes everyone, opens to dialogue about mental health and support the generation that we always address as the future of this world. Dear elders, may your support be as great as your trust in us when you say that we are the future of this world. As much as we need your support, we also need your guidance not judgements.
At the end of the day, our generation gaps should not be a barrier for us but an instrument for us to connect and ๐๐-๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฑ with each other.
May we always have a mouth to communicate, an ear to listen and a heart to comprehend. Life is precious and so are you, dear young ones.
