I know that there are times when it can be so discouraging to struggle with sin especially when we want to live in a way that’s fully pleasing to the Lord. But the reality is that sometimes, our flesh or sinful nature gets in the way and we end up doing what we’re not supposed to do. Temptations are everywhere and there are times when we will stumble and fall short.

But I realized that it’s better to struggle against sin than to ignore it at all. When we don’t struggle it means that we’ve been too comfortable with it. When we don’t struggle, we might be so calloused that we don’t feel the need to repent anymore.

The good news is that in our struggle with sin, Jesus is interceding with us. He knows our weaknesses and yet He did not sin, that’s why He can help us. Let’s pursue holiness by this: relying on His grace and when we fail, rely on His mercy knowing that we will find forgiveness and He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. (1 John 1:8-10)

WHY DID THE OTHER TABLE GOT SERVED FIRST?

Sometimes, in restaurants, I can’t help but notice other tables being served ahead of ours, even though we ordered first before them. Do you experience the same?

In my younger years, I would complain. I would even question the server. In the worse situation, I'd call the manager.

What I didn’t know was, the other table might have ordered a simple dish that doesn’t need much time to prepare.

This made me realize that, it’s not about who ordered first. It’s about WHAT you asked for.

The next time we see other people getting answers to their prayers ahead of us, please know that God might have something special being prepared for you - every detail of it being taken care of - that’s why it’s taking longer.

Like in a restaurant, the moment you’ve placed your order, it’s already being taken care of in the kitchen. Expect it will come no matter how long it takes. The steak tastes really good when we patiently wait.

Follow-up mo lang, okay lang yun!
