📚 DepEd Targets Hiring of 30,000+ Teachers in 2026 to Address Shortages

The Department of Education (DepEd) has expressed hope that it will receive sufficient government funding to hire more than 30,000 new public school teachers next year. This initiative is part of DepEd’s ongoing effort to address the long-standing issue of teacher shortages across the country—an issue that affects classroom quality, student learning outcomes, and overall school operations.

🔍 Why More Teachers Are Needed

Overcrowded classrooms remain a major challenge, with some public schools handling 50–60 students per class.

Many regions have unfilled teaching positions, especially in remote areas, making it difficult to maintain consistent learning standards.

Teachers often carry heavy workloads, including administrative responsibilities, which reduce their time for lesson preparation and student engagement.

🏫 Expected Benefits if Funding Is Granted

Reduced class sizes, allowing for better attention per student.

Balanced distribution of teachers, especially in underserved provinces.

Improved learning outcomes, as teachers can focus more on instruction and less on excessive workload.

Support for the new curriculum, which requires more specialized teaching roles.

💬 DepEd's Position

DepEd officials emphasized that increasing the number of teachers is essential for improving education quality. However, the plan depends heavily on the final budget that will be approved by Congress and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

They also noted that additional hiring aligns with efforts to modernize and strengthen the basic education system, especially as the sector recovers from the impact of the pandemic and transitions into curriculum reforms.

📝 Next Steps

The proposal is currently being reviewed in the 2026 national budget deliberations. Once approved, DepEd aims to prioritize:

Regions with the most severe teacher shortages

Schools with chronically overcrowded classrooms

Areas affected by teacher retirement or migration

🌑 9 Negative Personalities to Watch Out For
Not everyone you meet will uplift you. Some people drain your energy without you realizing it.

Here are common negative traits you should be aware of — and examples to help you spot them:

1. The Opportunist – uses people or situations only when it benefits them.
Example: He suddenly stepped in to “help” just because the boss was watching — a clear opportunist move.

2. The Narcissist – consumed by self-importance, always making everything about them.
Example: Every conversation circles back to her; it’s always “me, me, me.” A true narcissist.

3. The Slacker – avoids responsibility and lets others carry the load.
Example: When work begins, he suddenly “vanishes.” A certified slacker.

4. The Moocher – relies on others for money, favors, or resources without giving anything back.
Example: He borrows everything but returns nothing — the classic moocher.

5. The Bully – intimidates, belittles, or hurts others to feel powerful.
Example: He mocks juniors just to boost his ego — a bully in disguise.

6. The Liar – twists stories, hides truths, and cannot be trusted.
Example: His version of the story changes every time. A definite liar.

7. The Braggart – constantly boasts to impress or feel superior.
Example: She can’t go a day without flaunting her achievements — a textbook braggart.

8. The Cynic – doubts everyone’s intentions and always expects the worst.
Example: He believes every good deed has a hidden agenda — a true cynic.

9. The Snob – looks down on people they think are “less” than them.
Example: She refuses to talk to anyone she considers beneath her — such a snob.

✨ INSIGHT, ENCOURAGEMENT & ADVICE
In life, you’ll meet people who drain your energy, challenge your peace, and test your boundaries. You cannot change them — but you can choose how you respond. Protect your space. Set firm boundaries. Surround yourself with people who inspire growth, not those who pull you down.
Remember: You deserve relationships that respect your worth.
