Here's a classic lasagna recipe:

Ingredients:
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain.

3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink; drain.

4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, sugar, basil, fennel seeds, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

5. In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, eggs, and Parmesan cheese.

6. To assemble, spread 1 cup of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread one-third of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles. Top with one-third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers twice.

7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

8. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting and serving. Enjoy!
