Former Taytungian athlete Roland Oñate, who is currently playing for St. John Institute-Bacolod (SJI), conveyed his feelings about clinching the 2nd runner-up spot at the 2nd Ben Lo Memorial Cup.
“It feels so heartwarming, and our hard work has really paid off. Without (the hard work of) my team, we wouldn’t be able to achieve this. (Lastly,) all these are because of our Lord, who helped us achieve the 2nd runner-up win," said Roland in his interview.
Oñate may be on a different team but we will still continue to root for his success in his next ventures! Congratulations, Roland and the SJI team!

VIDEO: School Principal Engr. Philip P. Carpina and The Clarion’s Editor-in-Chief for School Year 2020-2021 Paul Bryan Alexis D. Chua made an appearance on ABS-CBN TeleRadyo’s noontime news program, Headline Pilipinas, earlier today.
Their participation in the June 17 broadcast of the said program was part of a news-feature story about drive-thru graduations held by different schools across the country.
Interviewed by ABS-CBN reporter Jasmin Romero, Engr. Carpina spoke about the processes done by the school to ensure the smooth flow of the drive-thru graduation and the solutions they created for students who did not have a vehicle for the event.
Chua, on the other hand, shared his feelings about the ‘new normal’ way of moving-up and graduating, describing the joy that he experienced as something ‘different’.
The drive-thru graduation was first adopted by Bacolod Tay Tung High School during the graduation ceremony of the Class of 2020, which was held in June last year. The idea was carried on for the succeeding school year, with drive-thru graduations for Elementary and Junior High School held last April 28 and 29 in the school’s covered court.
