PRO7: PhP7.6 Million Worth of Illegal Drugs and Firearm Seized in Three Drug Busts
The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) has reported substantial progress in the campaign against illegal drug activities in Central Visayas, attributed to its determined and strategic anti-drug initiatives.
On January 4 and 5, 2025, law enforcement conducted a series of operations that successfully resulted in the confiscation of a significant amount of illegal drugs.
The first operation took place at 11:45 PM on January 4, when officers from Police Station 7 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) apprehended a 29-year-old high-value drug suspect in Brgy. Inayawan, Cebu City.
Authorities seized 825 grams of illegal drugs, with an estimated drug price value of PHP5,610,000 and other drug paraphernalia.
Following this operation, a coordinated effort was launched at 11:35 PM the same night by the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit, in conjunction with the Tagbilaran City Police Station under the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO).
This buy-bust operation specifically targeted a known high-profile drug dealer in Purok 4, Brgy. Dampas, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 155 grams of illegal drugs valued at PHP1,054,000. In addition, authorities seized the buy-bust money, a mobile phone associated with drug activities, a homemade caliber .38 revolver, and ammunition from a 33-year-old drug suspect.
The final operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) at 2:00 AM on January 5. During this operation, officers apprehended a 20-year-old drug suspect and confiscated an estimated 140 grams of illegal drugs worth PhP952,000.
Overall, these three operations collectively resulted in the seizure of 1.1 kilograms of illegal drugs valued at PHP7,616,000.
This coordinated effort exemplifies PRO7’s commitment to eradicating drug-related activities within the region.
The Central Visayas police force is dedicated to producing impactful outcomes, consistent with the directive of PNP Chief PGEN ROMMEL FRANCISCO MARBIL, who advocates for a recalibrated anti-drug strategy.
The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PRO7-PIO)
