Give Love on Christmas Day

Puno na ng Christmas songs ang airwaves ngayon. Ano ba ang paborito mong pamaskong awit? Bata pa lang kami, isa na sa madalas naming kantahin ay ang Give Love On Christmas Day ng Jackson 5.

Hanggang ngayon, kinakanta pa rin iyan ng marami dahil walang kupas ang mensahe nito. Marapat lang na magmahalan tayo. Pag-ibig ang pinakamagandang regalo na pwede nating ibigay sa isa’t-isa. But how do you give love in the workplace not just during the Christmas season but every day that you are at work? May apat na tips ako para sa iyo.

Magandang araw! Ako si Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides para sa Protips, partner mo sa inspirado at puno ng pag-ibig na pagtatrabaho. What are four things that you can give a friend or a co-worker this holiday season to show your love for them?

1) Listening ear. Maging handa ka na makinig sa iba. Hindi sa lahat ng pagkakataon ay payo o solusyon sa problema ang kailangan ng isang kaibigan o katrabaho. Madalas nga, kausap na marunong makinig ay napakalaking tulong na para sa isang taong may pinagdaraanan. Offer a listening ear. Ang listen with an attentive heart.

2) Open mind. Suspend judgment and maintain an open mind when you encounter people who are different from you. 4) Encouragement. One of my long-time struggles is my weight. Minsan magaan, mas madalas mabigat. I have friends who constantly cheer on me to press on. Minsan ko na daw nagawang magpapayat, magagawa ko daw ulit iyon. Among family and friends who still believe that I can once again win this battle of the bulge ang pinaka-pursigidong cheerleader ay ang illustrator kong si Raquel. For Christmas, she gave me a planner called “Tita Witty’s The Papayat Ka Rin at Dudurugin Sila” Planner. Nang buksan ko ito, natawa ako at natuwa. She went out of her way to find a gift that would encourage me.

Give love this season by being a listening ear, by keeping an open mind, by valuing the time and presence of others and by being a source of encouragement to co-workers and friends. Ako si Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides.

In obedience to the Word of God, we continue to pray for and stand with Israel!

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you.
Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces." (Psalm 122:6-7)

"And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)

We also pray for comfort for the families of all innocent war victims, both in Israel and in Gaza.
