Kapitolyo sa Barangay” Program Resumes in Lubao

Lubao, Pampanga – The Kapitolyo sa Barangay Program has started the year by delivering essential services to Lubao residents.

On behalf of Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda visited barangays near town centers to assess residents' needs and provide support.

The program raised awareness about provincial government services, particularly for those needing medical assistance, ensuring that no one is left behind.

To reduce the need for long travel for medical consultations, the provincial government has pledged to provide ECG machines and establish laboratories in barangay health centers.

“Ini pung programa ng Gov, mamye ya pung ditak a saup kareng Kapampangan. Ding tutukan mi pu reng masakit kasi bawat baryu pu na ating health center dinan tana la pung laboratory tests ampong, panulu, at ECG,” the vice governor shared.

Additionally, construction is underway for a P50-million diagnostic building funded by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The facility, located behind the Lubao Municipal Hall, will provide basic diagnostic services such as laboratory tests, ECG, 2D-echo, and more.

Apart from the nearby barangays, the program also visited coastal areas, including Barangay Bancal Sinubli, Bancal Pugad, and Teresa 2nd.

“Maswelu ku pu king terminu ku na kasaup kula pu di ima ku ampo y wali ku. Saup-saup kami pu para kekayu pu,“ said Mayor Pineda.

NLEX Corporation Shares Holiday Cheer and Gives Back to Communities

NLEX employees and Road Warriors brought joy to elderly residents at Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly in Manila and Emmaus House in Bulacan, giving out rice, milk, pantry items, toiletries, and entertaining them with serenades and dance performances.

NLEX also spread Christmas cheer to children at orphanages, donating electric fans, toys, food, school supplies, and more to Send the Light Foundation in Pampanga, Navotas Bahay Pag-asa, and Tahanang Mapagkalinga ni Madre Rita in Bulacan. The latter was also the beneficiary of the NLEX Toys for Tots donation drive, a traditional gift-giving initiative of all NLEX employees.

As a token of appreciation, Christmas baskets were also given to SCTEX community farm volunteers, the barangay councils of the NLEX, SCTEX, and NLEX Connector host communities, and the NLEX Tullahan River clean-up volunteers. To help the Tullahan volunteers in the monthly clean-up, the tollway company also donated heavy-duty life vests with whistles, paddles, a boat, and a fiberglass extension ladder.

BCDA to Use Waste-to-Energy Technologies in Clark

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (The BCDA Group) is planning to build a waste-to-energy facility in Tarlac to help address the growing energy and waste challenges in the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone. This project aims to turn waste into renewable energy, reduce reliance on landfills, and support sustainable development in the area.

The BCDA is studying the best location and the technical, environmental, and financial details for the facility. Once the study is finished, the project will be open for public bidding. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve waste management and promote eco-friendly practices.

According to the World Bank, global waste generation is expected to rise significantly by 2050, leading to more greenhouse gas emissions from landfills. The waste-to-energy project will help reduce these emissions while meeting Clark's energy needs. It also supports the government’s goal of better solid waste management through the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program.

VG Nanay bings light and hope to 6 families this Christmas

City of San Fernando – Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda brought light and hope to six families in this city who had been living without electricity for months.

The vice governor, accompanied by her daughter, former Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, personally visited the families last night, December 22, to witness firsthand the challenges faced by the residents.

During her visit, the darkness that had shrouded their homes was dispelled as lights were reconnected, symbolizing a new beginning for the families.

“Binibisita ko yung mga walang kuryente, pasko kasi,” the vice governor said.

Beyond restoring electricity, Vice Governor Nanay also pledged to cover the cost of reconnecting water supplies for several families, ensuring access to basic utilities during the holiday season.

To make the celebration even more meaningful, Nanay brought groceries, clothes, noche buena packages, and cash gifts for the families.

She also promised to provide them with essential appliances and beds to improve their living conditions.

According to the San Fernando Electric and Power Company, Inc., the residents' electricity was disconnected after failing to pay for several consecutive months. Each household has an outstanding balance of no more than P5,000.

Vice Governor Nanay’s heartfelt gesture underscores her dedication to uplifting the lives of Kapampangans and serves as an inspiring example of the true spirit of Christmas.
