From the first whistle to the final buzzer, SHS delivers a performance with heart-stopping plays, unbeatable teamwork, and relentless determination. Each game becomes a showcase of skill, strategy, and the passion that defines the SHS spirit.

The curtain has fallen on this year’s Golden West College Intramurals, but the Senior High School team’s outstanding performance echoes far beyond the event, leaving an inspiring legacy that will be remembered for years to come.

The dynamic pairing of Jemima Corpuz and Aicy Reyes from Senior High delivered a show-stopping performance in the Girls' Doubles category.

Semi-finals: The duo easily dispatched Compassion’s Rupexxane Quijano and Angel Bauzon, winning 21-6, 21-10, and advancing to the championship round.

Championship Thriller: The final against Accessibility was a rollercoaster of emotions. After losing the first set 21-15, Corpuz and Reyes stormed back with a dominant 21-6 win in the second set. In a thrilling third set, they sealed the victory 21-7, clinching the championship and cementing their status as the tournament’s best doubles team.

Charm Arevalo was in a class of her own in Girls' Singles B, dominating from start to finish.

Against Accessibility: Arevalo easily defeated Fredalyn Teliteli with a commanding 21-3, 21-4 scoreline, advancing smoothly to the next round.

Against Compassion: In the semifinals, Arevalo continued her dominant run, overpowering Francia with 21-2 and 21-5 victories.

Championship Glory: Arevalo faced Jurssey Mae Dejesa in a battle for the title. She was relentless, winning the first set 21-7 and clinching the championship with a 21-16 win in the second set, proving herself the undisputed champion of the event.

Lindsay Balmores of Senior High proved herself a dominant force in the Girls' Singles A event, storming through the elimination round with a confident 21-14, 21-14 victory over Kieth Domondon of Accessibility. Her commanding performance earned her a well-deserved spot in the semi-finals.

In a nail-biting semi-final, Balmores faced Daniella Suñega of Compassion. After taking the first set 21-16, she battled through a tough second set, winning 21-17 to secure her place in the championship round.

The final was a thriller. Balmores faced off against Ashley Yanes of Transformation, who made a strong comeback after Balmores won the first set 21-16. Yanes seized the second set 21-19, and in the decisive third set, she sealed the win 21-16, claiming the championship while Balmores secured a hard-fought first runner-up finish.

The Senior High Takraw Team displayed remarkable resilience and skill as they faced off against college teams in a thrilling competition. The intense battle between the two parties turned into a neck-and-neck contest, with both teams vying for victory in every set.

In their first match, the Senior High boys delivered a stellar performance, defeating Team INTEGRITY in a hard-fought competition. After losing the first set, the SHS boys bounced back to win the third set 15-12, securing a hard-earned victory. However, the momentum shifted in their second match against Team DILIGENCE, their next opponent. Despite a valiant effort, the Senior High boys were narrowly defeated, with the final score of 14-16 in the deciding set, dashing their hopes of advancing to the finals.

Meanwhile, the Senior High Takraw girls faced a tough challenge and, unfortunately, did not make it to the second round of the competition. In the end, the sepak takraw men landed as second runner up.

From the opening round, the Senior High team showcased their seamless partnership, combining powerful smashes with impeccable defensive play to overpower their opponents. Their quick reflexes, strong serves, and calculated net shots proved to be a winning formula as they advanced through each stage of the competition.

In the finals, the team faced their toughest challenge. However, their determination and resilience were evident as they fought through every rally, ultimately securing a well-earned victory. Their impressive performance not only clinched the title but also set a new standard for excellence in the Men’s Doubles category.
The victory serves as a proud moment for the Senior High School department, highlighting the exceptional talent and sportsmanship of its athletes.

The Senior High School department proudly celebrated a podium finish in the Men’s Singles A Badminton Category at the 2024 Intramurals, as one of its top athletes claimed 3rd place in a fierce and competitive tournament.

Throughout the competition, his exceptional footwork and powerful smashes allowed him to dominate on the court, earning victories against tough opponents and advancing through challenging rounds.

In the semi-finals, despite a valiant effort, he was narrowly defeated in a closely contested match that saw his opponent clinch the victory in the final moments. However, his determination and focus were unwavering, and he quickly regrouped to secure a hard-fought win in the consolation match, earning the well-deserved 3rd place finish.

The Intramural Sports event for 2024 kicked off with intense excitement as the table tennis doubles womens competition unfolded on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN, Team SHS emerged as the champions in the recently concluded GWC intramurals 2024. The competition saw fierce battles between Team Godliness, Team Excellence, Team Compassion, and Team SHS, culminating in a final showdown that crowned SHS as the ultimate victors.

The path to glory began with intense matchups:

- Game 1 saw Team Godliness overpowering their opponents, showcasing their precision and teamwork.

- Game 2 belonged to Team Excellence, who executed a strategic game plan to secure their win.

- In Game 3, Team Compassion displayed resilience, claiming a hard-fought victory.

- Game 4 ended in a default win for Team SHS, setting the stage for their march toward the championship.

Semi-Finals: Team SHS vs. Team Compassion

The semi-final clash between Team SHS and Team Compassion was a nail-biter. Jasmine Banlao and Nissy Samelo of SHS proved unstoppable, scoring 9, 11, 11, and 11 across four sets. Despite a valiant effort by Ashley Dianne Mayo and Daniella Joy Camba of Team Compassion, who scored 11, 7, 8, and 4, SHS secured their spot in the finals.

Finals: Team SHS vs. Team Godliness

The championship match saw Team SHS take on Team Godliness. With unwavering focus and seamless coordination, SHS dominated from the start, achieving a clean sweep with scores of 11, 11, and 11 in the first three sets. On the other hand, Mariel Aquino and Michelle Acosta of Team Godliness struggled to keep up, managing scores of 2, 2, and 1. The victory solidified SHS's claim to the championship title. The victory of Team SHS reflects their commitment to excellence and unyielding teamwork.

Their performance throughout the tournament showed that even though they are the youngest players, they can also win against those who are older than them. As the newly crowned champions, Jasmine Banlao and Nissy Samelo have become symbols of sportsmanship and dedication.

The Intramural Sports event for 2024 kicked off with intense excitement as the table tennis single A women competition unfolded on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Held from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM, the women's singles category saw some incredible displays of skill and determination, with participants battling it out for the top spots.

With the help of an incredible defense and polished offense, Charmaine Aldana of Team SHS barely breaks a sweat as she defeat Manarang Jelaine of Team Transformation, 2-0, during the table tennis fourth match in the 2024 GWC Intramurals, November 19, 2024. The game continues between the two competitive players as they both sn**ch a point from each other until Aldana uses her powerful serve and buries a solid 11-8. During the game, Manarang lost her composure while Aldana continued to sn**ch more points. The second set ends as Aldana wins the duel, 11-04.

Aldana is set to compete with the Team Compassion player who won in the third match against the Team Accessibility player. In the sixth match between Team SHS and Team Compassion. Team SHS table tennis player Charmaine Aldana produced a dominant performance to defeat Team Compassion Althea Cenas 3-0 to advance into the women's singles seventh match championship round. Aldana, bring 11-3, 11-5, 11-3 victory that took less than 30 minutes. Aldana will face the winner of game seven, which is Joana Inocencio of Team Virtue, for the championship round.

In match eight for the championship round, the two teams standing are Team SHS vs. Team Virtue. After the game began, Charmaine Aldana came up in the first set, played very passively, constantly good serve, and other offensive errors, losing points, and finally to 6-11 first. Joana Inocencio won the first set.

The second set Aldana victory in sight but began to make mistakes, coupled with the opponent’s luck and the result of Aldana's loss of 2-11, the game was dragged into the decisive game. In the face of unfavorable circumstances, Aldana fought back, but still in poor condition, and by Inocencio again hit the ball to destroy the rhythm of the rubbing, chased to 9-all, and then lost 2 points to a 9-11 loss. Aldana had lost 0-3 (6-11, 2-11, 9-11) against Joana Inocencio of Team Virtue. Indeed, Charmaine Aldana from Team SHS took the top spot, clinching first runner-up with a remarkable performance.

The mixed table tennis event of the Golden West Colleges Intramurals showcased spectacular matches on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with Team SHS, composed of Ezra Mae Ochoada and Denver Morena, emerging as the crowd favorites. Their journey through the tournament, marked by resilience and teamwork, captivated the audience and solidified their status as standout performers.

Match 5: Team SHS Over Team Godliness One of the most thrilling moments of the tournament came in Match 5, where Team SHS faced the formidable Team Godliness (Raymond Suminta and Pia Carla Barandoc). Despite Godliness’s strong start with 20 points in the first round, Team SHS showcased consistency and determination, scoring 18, 8, 11, 11, and 11 points across five rounds to secure a hard-fought victory. Their composure under pressure was a key factor in their success, earning them widespread admiration.

Semi-finals: A Hard-Fought Battle Against Team Diligence In the semi-finals, Team SHS went up against Team Diligence (Mary Rose Canias and Christian John Dela Cruz). While Diligence ultimately claimed the win with their perfect 11 points in three rounds, Team SHS put up a spirited fight, scoring 3, 7, and 4 points.

Ezra Mae Ochoada and Denver Morena displayed incredible skill, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Their victory in Match 5 and their determined effort in the semi-finals made them the standout team of the day.

The tournament concluded with Team Compassion being crowned champions. Their inspiring performance throughout the competition earned them the admiration of the audience. The event was a resounding success, with all teams demonstrating the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

Held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN, the women's singles category saw some incredible displays of skill and determination, with participants battling it out for the top spots. In an unexpected turn of events, Clizel Anne Ramos of Team SHS was declared the women’s singles table tennis fourth match winner for Intramurals 2024 after her opponent, Team Transformation, was unable to compete due to unforeseen circumstances. The fourth match, which is her first game, concluded with a default victory for Ramos.

Clizel Anne Ramos of Team SHS showcased her determination and skill in Match 7 of the Intramurals 2024 women’s table tennis competition, securing a hard-fought five-set victory over Anthonette Ranches of Team Compassion. The win propels Ramos into Match 8, the championship round, where she will battle for the title.

The match began with Ramos dominating the first set, utilizing precise serves and aggressive smashes to claim an 11-9 victory. However, Ranches bounced back in the second set, adjusting her strategy and capitalizing on Ramos' errors to take it 7-11. Ramos regained her rhythm in the third set, controlling the pace and executing sharp returns to win 11-5. Ramos now advances to Match 8, the championship round, where she will face Maribel Padilla of Team Excellence in what promises to be an epic showdown.

Clizel Anne Ramos of Team SHS delivered a masterclass performance in Match 8, the championship round of the GWC Intramurals 2024 women's table tennis competition. Ramos secured a straight-sets victory over Maribel Padilla of Team Excellence, clinching the title with an impressive 11-4, 11-1, 11-1 scoreline on November 20, 2024. From the outset, Ramos displayed her dominance, taking control of the match with powerful serves and precise smashes. In the first set, she overwhelmed Maribel’s defense, comfortably winning 11-4.

The second set was even more one-sided, as Ramos demonstrated impeccable accuracy and consistency. Her relentless attacks and sharp returns left Padilla struggling to find answers, ending in a commanding 11-1 score. In the third and final set, Ramos maintained her momentum, outpacing and outsmarting her opponent with tactical brilliance and flawless ex*****on. The set concluded 11-1, sealing a 3-0 straight-sets triumph and the championship title for Ramos.

The victory not only crowned Clizel Anne Ramos as the 2024 Intramurals women’s table tennis single b champion but also highlighted her remarkable determination and skill under pressure.

November 19, 2024 – the vibrant grounds of Golden West Colleges were alive with the spirit of camaraderie, competition, fun, and teamwork as the much-anticipated Larong Lahi took place. The event was organized by the Senior High School faculty members and the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG).
Students from different departments came together to participate in a series of traditional Filipino games. From sack races to lava walk, the games highlighted not only the athletic skills of the students but also their ability to collaborate and support one another.
It is such a memorable experience, and the event served as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that traditional games represent, ensuring that these beloved pastimes continue to thrive among the youth.

The event, held at Plaza Enrique Braganza and college campus , marked not only the beginning of friendly competition but also the remarkable milestone of three decades of faith, community, and growth at the college.

The opening ceremony features a vibrant mix of athleticism, music, and inspiring messages, as students, faculty, and alumni gathered to honor the theme that has shaped the college's spirit for the past 30 years. The event was a tribute to the unwavering faith and support that have propelled Golden West College to new heights, with a special focus on the blessings of unity, perseverance, and shared purpose.
