Congratulations to PNG Kumuls’ dynamic fullback, Morea Morea, who has secured a train-and-trial deal with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys for the 2025 NRL season! This opportunity marks a significant milestone for Morea, as he steps onto one of rugby league’s biggest stages in Australia.

The train-and-trial deal means Morea will join the Cowboys' pre-season squad, where he’ll have the chance to impress the coaches and potentially earn a spot in the team. Known for his electrifying speed, strong defense, and ability to create opportunities under pressure, Morea’s style perfectly aligns with the intensity of the NRL. His recent performances with the PNG Kumuls have showcased his potential, drawing attention from top clubs and setting him up for this incredible opportunity.

For Papua New Guinea, Morea’s journey is inspiring; he follows in the footsteps of other PNG players who have broken into the NRL, helping to raise the profile of PNG rugby league internationally. His move is a source of pride for his family, fans, and aspiring players back home, and it reinforces the growing influence of Pacific players in the NRL.

If Morea impresses during his time with the Cowboys, he could secure a full contract, making him one of the next PNG stars to shine in Australia’s elite rugby league competition. His journey will be closely followed, as he represents not only himself but the spirit and talent of PNG on a larger stage.
PNG Kumuls fullback Morea Morea has signed a train-and-trial deal with the North Queensland Cowboys for the 2025 NRL season. This opportunity follows Morea’s impressive performances in the Queensland Hostplus Cup with the PNG Hunters and his contributions to the Kumuls in the Pacific Championships. The Cowboys’ interest in Morea highlights his potential to transition into a higher level of rugby league, offering him a platform to showcase his skills and potentially secure a more permanent spot on the team.

BSP has planned to stop Kundu cards to use visa debit cards for the purpose of one account one card. Banks and other financial institutions are equally as other profit oriented entities. We respect their operations, but too much charges or fees associated in their products are totally not right.

The fees paid to use visa cards in every shopping you do are more than our kundu cards. All level of customers will now pay the same fee for the benefit of using visa debit cards.

Country is failing from all sectors.

PRIME MINISTER'S XIII JUNIOR KUMULS AND JUNIOR ORCHIDS SQUADS ANNOUNCED

PAPUA New Guinea representative coaches Joey Grima and Solomon Kuluniasi have named their representative sides maintaining their roles, selecting their squads for the upcoming Prime Minister’s XIII challenges against the Australian school boys’ and school girls’ sides.

Both the Prime Minister's XIII Junior Kumuls’ and Junior Orchids’ squads have assembled in Port Moresby in the lead-up to the international matches taking place at Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby, this coming Sunday 13th October.

Grima said last year’s narrow defeat to the Australian school boys demonstrates the talent pool here in Papua New Guinea.

This year it’s an opportunity to see how the junior male players grow and learn from that experience.

“The staff and I are so proud of the journey for these young men of PNG. The national pride these young men have wearing a junior Kumuls’ jersey from all regions from Papua New Guinea and East coast of Australia is refreshing.”

“Some of our players selected have never left their village or town and now they have an opportunity to travel to the nation’s capital and train in a world-class gym and faculty with the best available PNG players available.”

“These players deserve this opportunity to play against the number one nation of rugby league. I’m excited for what Sunday will deliver and incredibly excited for my playing group and staff,” Grima said.

Meanwhile Kuluniasi expressed that camp was progressing well for the female juniors’ team. “The girls are connecting and getting better. A few bumps and bruises but they’ll get over it come weekend’s game.

“The staff are doing a great job also. A good culture is happening.”

“This is a great opportunity for our young girls to come together - they are excited and looking forward to Sunday,” Kuluniasi added.
