CR. 06 Feb 25. Mt Hagen. K*k Balga, Murder and Attempted Murder.
A tragic incident occurred when a 17-year-old Grade 12 student from Enga, who resided in Baisu, Mt Hagen, was fatally attacked by his brother-in-law. During the attack, the victim’s mother was also severely injured and is in critical condition at Mt Hagen General Hospital. The suspect, who also resides in Baisu, fled the scene with his family, and authorities are currently searching for him. Investigations are ongoing.

A hit-and-run incident was reported at Down Town, opposite the Town Police Station. The victim, an adult male, sustained serious injuries and is being assisted by witnesses.
The vehicle involved fled the scene, and the particulars are currently unknown.

Armed Hold-Up Report Opposite IPA Building, Kone

CR. 31-01.2025. Received a report at 11:58 hrs from guards at the IPA Building in Kone of an armed hold-up at a seafood company right opposite the IPA Building, Kone. One suspect was apprehended. The police operation was notified immediately at 11:58hrs. Police arrived on the scene. Duty Coordinator and ER5 were also notified to proceed and maintain a presence at IPA Haus. The situation was contained, and police were on site.

Mulitaka, Enga Province – Road Blockage and Confrontation – On the 23rd of January 2025, at approximately 10:00hrs, locals in Mulitaka continued to block the vital road leading to the Porgera Mine, disrupting economic activities in the region. Despite multiple attempts by the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) to negotiate and peacefully clear the road, the community persisted in their actions. In response, the PNGDF took decisive action, including the use of machine gun fire to disperse civilians blocking the road.
