☆~ Why do people especially supporters of the politicians (leaders) sometimes hate each other in political arena and arguing over?
☆~ Instead let's focus on our daily lives and let the leaders do their mandated roles during these hard times...
☆~ Yes we have rights in Papua New Guinea to express, (our freedom of speech), but sometimes we have to sit back and analyze the words we're trying to bring across before we share them on the social media platforms.
☆~ Our stupidity today will have the lasting impacts on our childrens future.
☆~Therefore, sometimes we have to be mindful of the words that we choose and share on social media platforms for short term gain.

Papua New Guinea Delivers Statement on behalf of Pacific Island Countries at the
Seventy-Seventh World Health Assembly

The Honorable Dr Lino Tom MP, Minister for Health, delivered a powerful statement on
behalf of 22 Pacific Island countries, at the opening of the 77th World Health Assembly in
Geneva, Switzerland.

In his address, Minister Tom warned that the very idea of ‘health for all’ is under threat from
climate change.

“Pacific Island Countries are responsible for less than 1% of global emissions, but we are on the frontline of the climate crisis,” he said.
“We must face these challenges and do everything we can to mitigate climate change,
now.”

Minister Tom urged delegates at the World Health Assembly to lead by example and
address the environmental impact of the health sector, which is currently responsible for
around 5% of greenhouse gas emissions globally.

“Climate change is the biggest health threat of the 21st century. If we are genuinely committed to health for all, we must act decisively, collectively, and immediately – to protect our health and the health of future generations.”

**Papua New Guinea: A Nation Rich in Potential, Yearning for Good Governance**

Papua New Guinea, a nation nestled amidst the azure waters of the Pacific, stands as a testament to the unparalleled beauty and abundance that nature has bestowed upon our planet. From the verdant rainforests teeming with an astonishing array of flora and fauna to the towering mountains and crystalline rivers that shape our breathtaking landscape, Papua New Guinea is a land truly blessed.

Within our borders lie vast reserves of natural resources, a testament to the wealth that this country holds. Our minerals, forests, and fisheries have the potential to transform the lives of our people and contribute to the prosperity of generations to come. However, unlocking this potential requires more than just the riches beneath the earth's surface; it demands a foundation of good governance that will pave the way for a brighter future.

Good governance is the cornerstone upon which nations thrive. It is the framework of laws, institutions, and practices that ensures the equitable distribution of resources, the protection of human rights, and the accountability of those in power. When good governance prevails, corruption is diminished, transparency is enhanced, and the rule of law is upheld. This, in turn, fosters a climate of trust and confidence, attracting investment, stimulating economic growth, and improving the well-being of all citizens.

In Papua New Guinea, the pursuit of good governance has been an ongoing struggle. While some progress has been made, much work remains to be done. Corrupt practices, lack of transparency, and weak institutions have hindered our nation's ability to fully harness its potential.

To overcome these challenges, we must embrace our country's wealth with pride and serve our dear citizens for the common good. This means putting aside personal interests and working together to build a nation where every citizen has the opportunity to succeed. We must demand accountability from our leaders and hold them to the highest ethical standards. We must strengthen our institutions and ensure that they operate with integrity and transparency.

Moreover, as we strive for good governance, we must also recognize the importance of inclusivity. Every citizen, regardless of their background or beliefs, must have a voice in shaping the future of our nation. We must promote dialogue and reconciliation and work together to build a society where all Papua New Guineans feel a sense of belonging.

The path to good governance is not without its obstacles. There will be those who resist change and seek to maintain the status quo. However, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to building a better future for all. Together, we can overcome the challenges ahead and create a Papua New Guinea that is truly worthy of its people.

Let us embrace the unique potential of our nation and work tirelessly to ensure that the abundance of our natural resources translates into a prosperous and equitable future for all Papua New Guineans. Let us strive to build a country where good governance prevails, where corruption is eradicated, and where the rights and freedoms of every citizen are respected. Together, we can unlock the true potential of Papua New Guinea and create a legacy that will inspire generations to come.💙🇵🇬
