The US can’t compete with Chinese EVs and has passed 100% tariffs to try and block China from entering the market. Of course the real loser is the average American consumer who is being denied access to superior tech at affordable prices.

The EU just passes tariffs but incredibly only 17% tariffs will be laid on
in EU. This of course will make BYD cars more expensive in the EU but their entry market EV will go from $12k to $15k in price. Still very affordable, expect BYD sales in EU to skyrocket over the next few years.

Reuters just broke a MASSIVE story on how the Pentagon launched a disinformation campaign to brainwash nations across Asia and the Middle East into having a negative view of China.

The US government is desperate to portray China in the most negative light instead of competing fairly and learning to co-exist. The Zero Sum game is the only game politicians in Washington want to play.

As of 2023, the top 10% financially in the US controlled 66.9% of the total wealth, with the top 1% holding 30.6% of the wealth on its own. Meanwhile, the bottom 50% of the country held only 2.5% of wealth.

The west knows this very well. I told you that Mali 🇲🇱 has refused to sign nor ratify the treaty on the prohibition of nuclear ☢️ weapons (TPNW). Sometimes, I don’t understand the West. They possess nuclear arms, but these folks don’t want the rest of the world to have the same power, so they can continue to dominate and maintain their supremacy.

But they love to loot our resources. We can’t be the ones who have the minerals, and they are the ones who benefit the most from it. It’s time we end this s**t. In Africa, especially in Niger 🇳🇪, this why none of them ever dared to help Niger have a civil nuclear energy although it’s from there that the whole of the European Union 🇪🇺 used to get 25% of their uranium supply from, and France 🇫🇷 was the one who used to have the monopoly of that uranium.

Do you think if Africa had nuclear weapons, the west will continue to plunder our resources? The only way for Africans to protect themselves against the west is to have nuclear weapons. If we do acquire nuclear weapons, that will be the end of western hegemony. Because guess what, without African resources, they will have no economies. I’m not the one who says, they themselves are saying it.

I know it’s not going to be easy, because, as we speak, the US 🇺🇸 is looking for a way to remain in the Sahel to “counteract” Russian influence they say. But we know what they are aiming for. So, If anyone doesn’t see the need for us to have nuclear weapons, sorry, I can’t help you. But we are going to have them one way or the other.

Now, I couldn't care less what happened in Parliament yesterday. Motion rejected? I don't care, Marape still remains PM? Doesn't matter, a missionary’s son or a missionary’s grandson is the PM? Un-importan., Speaker Pomat runs to the Courts to justify his obvious bias? Couldn’t care less. If he resigns? Really don’t care. Democracy does not exist. Democracy is a farce!!

The reason myself and so, so many struggling Papua New Guineans are disengaging and questioning Democratic values and politics is multifaceted. To begin, we know most MPs are in Parliament via a fraudulent and rigged voting system, a complete and utter sham. We did not pick our leaders, they picked themselves. In addition, we know that whomever does get elected Prime Minister and whomever become Ministers or Vice-Ministers, they all pledge allegiance to self-interest far above national interest. We know the national budget and the billions at its disposal have no real importance on our lives or the direction of Papua New Guinea. We will still remain poor, struggle with poverty and the higher cost of living. We will still suffer open corruptions, higher taxes and more of our hard-earned taxes for Waigani swamp to squander on themselves and cronies.

Why BRICS+ matters to PNG?

BRICS countries include major world powers, such as China, India and Russia, and countries which are influential on their continent, such as South Africa and Brazil. As of 1 January 2024, BRICS+ included Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with a combined population of about 3.5 billion, or 46% of the world's inhabitants, 36% global GDP (combined economy worth more than $28.5tn - about 28% of the global economy) and 25 per cent of world trade, measured in terms of exports.

More than 40 countries have expressed interest in joining the BRICS+ group of nations, and 97 countries out of the world’s 195 countries (including the 2 non-member observer states, Holy See and State of Palestine), are set to attend BRICS 2024 in Russia.
According to forecasts by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), BRICS+ will account for 37.6% of world GDP at PPP in 2027, compared with 28.2% for the G7.

The emergence of BRICS+ as a potent global economic and political force is imminent. And note the common factor binding the more than 40 countries queuing up to join, all immerging economies with something to export. Is PNG not an emerging export driven economy?

Prerequisite for Joining BRICS+

The only condition to join BRICS is a commitment to work on the basis of the key principle of the ‘Sovereign Equality Of States’

The UN Charter on the sovereign equality of its members, Article 2(1) and deeply embedded in the conceptual structure of international law declares, ‘All States enjoy sovereign equality. They have equal rights and duties and are equal members of the international community, notwithstanding differences of an economic, social, political or other nature’

Papua New Guinea’s foreign policy since 1976 has always been ‘friends to all, enemy to none’ which hypothetically define our commitment to respect and work with all sovereign states as equals. PNG, more or less, clearly, meets the qualification. PNG should bid for BRICS+ membership.

Over 2,000 buried under rubble after landslide – Papua New Guinea to UN

More than 2,000 people could be buried under the rubble left by Friday’s deadly landslide in Papua New Guinea, AP has reported, citing a letter the South Pacific island nation’s authorities have sent to the United Nations.

Early on Friday, a side of Mount Mungalo, located some 600 kilometers (373 miles) to the north of the capital, Port Moresby, collapsed, completely covering Yambali village with a mix of rocks, mud and uprooted trees. The natural disaster also severed the main provincial highway in the area, compounding rescue efforts.

Tribal hostilities in the region are also presenting significant logistics challenges, first responders have reported, with military personnel needed to protect aid shipments.

The acting director of Papua New Guinea’s National Disaster Center, Luseta Laso Mana, wrote to the United Nations on Sunday that the landslide had “buried more than 2,000 people alive” and caused “major destruction.”

Mana, who visited the affected area personally in the wake of the national disaster, warned that it would have serious economic repercussions for the island nation, and formally requested international assistance, according to AP.

Earlier that same day, Serhan Aktoprak, the chief of the International Organization for Migration’s mission in Papua New Guinea, told AP that local authorities “are estimating that more than 670 people [are] under the soil at the moment.” He explained that the number was based on the average population figures per household in the region, adding, however, that the estimated death toll was “not solid.”

As for the latest assessment by Papua New Guinea authorities, Aktoprak said: “We are not able to dispute what the government suggests but we are not able to comment on it.”

Meanwhile, local officials acknowledged that they had initially underestimated the number of residents in Yambali village.

Since tragedy struck on Friday, the projected death toll has soared from a little over 100 victims to more than 2,000.
According to media reports, rescuers' efforts were initially slow.
The landslide has left at least 1,250 homeless, AP also reported, citing local authorities.
