Students performing at St. Boniface Rempi Primary School to celebrate St. Boniface Feast Day as well as World Environment Day.
Almost 2.5 kilometres of the section of the Madang Bogia has been washed away by the rising sea level due to the effects of climate change at Matugar village on the north coast of Madang. Motorists and the general travelling public are now left with no choice but to use only one lane of the highway, the other half already gone. This is what greeted us when we dropped by at Matugar village in the ward 17 area of the Sumgilbar LLG in the Sumkar district.
Its now up to the relevat authorities to take drastic actions to combat the effects of climate change.
We understand there is a contractor on the ground ready to work on the damaged section of the highway however due to rough weather and some misunderstanding between the villagers and the contractor concerned, work has still not started as yet

Sister Margaret Muiyager is a midwife and a Senior nursing officer at the Madang Provincial Hospital. She shared with us a testimony on the use of mobile phone in directing another medical officer to save a life recently.
Here she is making an appeal to medical and health officers working in remote parts of Madang and PNG to get directions through the phone if an emergency arises.
