CRU is doing well above expectations partnering provincial unions including New Ireland Rugby Union and now Morobe Rugby Union. So I will repeat....All along the administration of Capital Rugby Union to date is like they are running PNG Rugby Union.
The work of CRU far out plays the national body..PNG Rugby Union.
I suggest they swapp names and duties and CRU becomes PNGRU while PNGRU becomes CRU. Makes sense though in terms of output and delievery.
Tenk u CRU and Kori Chan being able to step in the gap unable to be filled in by PNGRU.

Without relying much on the mother sporting body for financial backing and technical support, Morobe Rugby Union and Capital Rugby Union plans to work together for the good of the sport.

Rugby Union in Lae City under Morobe Rugby Union has been brought back to life in the last three years under this man. MRU President Lynold Kamiak.
in my 12 years as a resident of Lae City Id say this is the most successful President standing by the code waking it up from the dead and giving life to a once dominant union in PNG or should I say best performing union in PNG. I mean there was one time that the Morobe Hammerheads toured overseas representing not just Lae but PNG as a whole apart from the National team. And Lae City hosts the one and only junior rugby union development concept-the SCRUM for some over 30 years now. Morobe Rugby Union continues to provide the best of code switchers to date and many good things have come out from MRU sometime ago. But then it all went down the drain losing interest from players and most importantlty the business community.
Today the cooperation shown during the conclusion of the 2024 Trans Highway speaks of getting back up there where we once belonged.
Unfortunately the good man leading MRU upfront is calling it quits come the 2024 elective AGM of Morobe Rugby Union.

Tenk u Post Courier for the 2 days in a row backpage. And I guess one more backpage coming up before the week ends.
Most importantly and away from the hard news, Lae City is hosting and running valauble sports tournaments and competitions for kids up to the oldies and all I see come the reviews, is a 500 word story.
Indeed there is little to no coverage apart from the one and only Kake Lareva Larry Andrew doing his best at the National Newspaper in Lae every weekend.
Though em mangi Lae, the presence of Simon Keslep from Post Courier last weekend in Lae maybe a call up for newsrooms in Lae to step up your sports coverage.
Lae City being the inudstrial hub of New Guinea has the largest number of industries and companies compared countrywide.
Im sure they will not resist doing their bit of community enagements thru sports.
But where is the publcity to attract them??
The key revenue to media houses is from advertisements from Companies and not from selling hard news. Apart from NBC who is paid by taxpayers of PNG.
NO newsroom makes money to pay its employees from selling hard news...It doesnt work that way and its unsustainalbe. Newsrooms are profitable because of adverts..bottom line.
So get out there and give Companies the reason to stand behind sports in Papua New Guinea as whole instead of the whole bu*****ts about the hard stories of politisized PNG that is making all of us go broke and only the few up there have all the liberty to splash money.

The Finschaffen district backed Morobe Kandes under the leadership of local member Rainbo Paita gets into working in 2024 falling short of meeting requirments of a successful bid submission last year (2023) to join the semi professional Rugby League competition in Papua New Guinea. Aback the growing talents in Lae City not able to get into the only Lae based franchise, Morobe Kandes Rugby League Club aims at providing the alternate choice and beefed up through its recent engagments with newly established Morobe Country League and its affiliates, Finschaffen and Markham Leagues.
2024 is a working year toget Morobe Kandes Rugby League Club into the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup season 2025.
