Good morning viewers around the country, PNG is in dire need for a leadership who can appreciate our Kina Value. Our Kina Value has been depreciating on a monthly basis since March 2023. In March 2023 the Exchage Rate was at PKG 0.2675 is to USD $1.00 but in February 2024 it depreciating down to PKG 0.2596 is to USD $1.00. So we need qualified person to he the head of this Beautiful County.

KRAMER MOVES TO IMMIGRATION IN A MINOR CABINET RESHUFFLE

With only two weeks remaining before the issue of writs, the Executive Government has decided to make a minor cabinet reshuffle.

Prime Minister James Marape made the announcement yesterday afternoon, (Wednesday 13th April 2022).

This sees Chuave MP Wera Mori being decommissioned as Minister for Environment and Conservation and Daulo MP Pogio Ghate taking on the Ministry.

Sohe MP Henry Amuli will fill the vacancy left by the late Minister for Commerce and Industry and Goilala MP William Samb.

Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Westley Nukundj moves over to Inter-Government Relations taking over from Pila Niningi, who is moved to head the Justice Department, while Bryan Kramer moves to Immigration.

MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR MURDER.

Port Moresby North West MP Lohia Boe Samuel was arrested and charged for murder and locked up at the Boroko Police Station cells today.

Commander NCD/Central Assistant Commissioner Anthony Wagambie Junior said the MP was invited to Boroko Police station, escorted to the NCD Homicide section and charged today under section
300 sub section (1) (b)(ii) of the PNG Criminal Code Act.

The firearm is owned and licensed to the Member of Parliament.

Mr Wagambie said the investigators had to piece together information and evidence before effecting the arrest today.

At the time of the incident, the MP was in the company of one of his staff and the deceased.

Commander Wagambie said while we understand the emotions and public outcry through different forms of media, the Constabulary has a Constitutional duty to perform and must remain focused throughout the investigation. He stated that Police Investigators had to gather evidence and information to ensure that the right person is charged for discharging the firearm resulting in death.

The Member for Moresby North West has been detained at Boroko Police Station cell and refused Police bail.

His staff member, is currently being interviewed.

Death Notice

FORMER KAVIENG MP BEN MICAH PASSES ON

Former Kavieng MP Ben Micah passed away this morning in Port Moresby.

The Office of New Ireland Governor, Sir Julius Chan confirmed his passing.

The Office said Mr. Micah passed away at 10:15am this morning at the Pacific International Hospital.

Sir Julius made an official announcement in the Provincial Assembly sitting, currently underway in Kavieng.

The late Micah was first elected to the 5th National Parliament in 1992 and was appointed member of the Appointments Committee, Standing Orders Committee, Chairman of the Public Works Committee and Chairman of the Constitutional Commission.

He served in different ministerial portfolios, including Minister for Transport and Minister for State Enterprises and Investments.

After losing the 2017 elections, Mr. Micah took a keen interest in sport, particularly boxing.

He was the patron and promoter of Oceania Fight Promotions until his passing.

Late Micah had hinted at running again in this year's elections.
