Eclipse Rendering
Today was nothing short of awesome—a solar eclipse! 🌒✨ For expats stationed in Mazatlán, Dallas, Montreal, Toronto, or even near the shores of Newfoundland, you were in for a celestial spectacle as the path of totality passed right over you, offering a front-row seat to one of nature's most awe-inspiring shows.
For those of us scattered around the globe, whether we caught a glimpse of the total or partial eclipse, the experience was surreal.
🌎💫 But, a shout-out to my fellow observers in Panama: despite the intense cloud cover that may have obscured our view, the excitement in the air was palpable, and the shared anticipation was a treat in itself. 🌥️👀
To all my expat friends and their host communities around the world—whether you saw darkness at midday, a ring of fire, or just a bite taken out of the sun—I hope you felt the magic of today's eclipse. 🌚🌝
Remember, it’s not just about what you see; it’s about sharing that moment, wherever you are.
Until the next cosmic event, keep looking up! 🌌 #SolarEclipse2024 #ExpatLife #CelestialSpectacle
The Echo Chamber--it's a drag! Live large and get out there with all the different people.
A QUICK TIP FOR MY PANAMA PEEPS!
Healthy Eating in Panama:
Panama offers a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and seafood, providing ample opportunities for healthy eating. However, as in any relocation, adapting to local food sources and dietary habits requires some effort. Here are a few tips for maintaining a healthy diet in Panama:
• LOCAL MARKETS: Panama's markets are filled with fresh produce. Take advantage of this by incorporating local fruits and vegetables into your diet.
• PLENTIFUL SEAFOOD: With its extensive coastline, Panama has a rich variety of seafood. Including fish and shellfish in your meals can provide essential omega-3 fatty acids.
• MODERATION IS KEY: While Panamanian cuisine may be delicious, some dishes are high in fats and, unfortunately, sugars. Enjoy these in moderation and balance them with healthier options.
• HYDRATON: Panama's tropical climate means it's important to stay well-hydrated. Drink plenty of water and enjoy the country's fresh juices, avoiding those with added sugars.
Adjusting to a new diet in a foreign country can be a challenge, but it also offers an opportunity to embrace new culinary experiences and perhaps even improve your dietary habits. By being mindful of the common pitfalls and making an effort to integrate into the local food culture, expats can enjoy a nutritious and fulfilling diet, enhancing their overall experience abroad.
Body, mind, soul. Guard your health!
A brief message for ALL friends, abroad or at home.

Expat social life includes a lot of parties--- and we introverts can sometimes feel the pressure to attend. Luckily, I am pretty comfortable in the power of "no".... yet still manage to have a large support system.
