Ko Whakatāne te Taone pūmatua mo te whitinga o te rā i roto ia Aotearoa whanaui. Kua hoatu hoki ta matau tātahi te taitara 'Te Tātahi matua o Aotearoa'. Not only are we the sunshine capital of New Zealand, but our very own Ohope beach has been named New Zealands favourite beach. Isn't it awesome to be from Whakatāne? And isn't it awesome to be Ngāti Awa? Tau ke!

The Tuhoe Building - Te Uru Taumatua Whare hou was in a league of it's own today. Tū ana te puehu! You could really feel the ihi and the wana of our neighboring tribe today. What a wonderful day for them! Ka pai whānau!!

Ngakauroa is one of our Ngāti Awa owned and operated farms and GUESS WHAT? It’s been named a finalist in the Ahuwhenua Trophy competition. The judging panel will be at Ngakauroa farm to decide if we have what it takes to take this thing out! If you have nothing planned that day, head along to our Ngāti Awa pāmu and support this awesome kaupapa! Plenty of cool things happening in Ngāti Awa ne whānau? KA MAU TE WEHI!
