Ko Whakatāne te Taone pūmatua mo te whitinga o te rā i roto ia Aotearoa whanaui. Kua hoatu hoki ta matau tātahi te taitara 'Te Tātahi matua o Aotearoa'. Not only are we the sunshine capital of New Zealand, but our very own Ohope beach has been named New Zealands favourite beach. Isn't it awesome to be from Whakatāne? And isn't it awesome to be Ngāti Awa? Tau ke!

Just reminding you all that the Education grants close next Friday, the 21st of March at 4.00 PM. So if you haven't sent in all your required documentation, get it in! GUESS WHAT NGĀTI AWA? The Hapū challenge is coming soon. If your hapū thinks they've got what it takes to become the 2014 Victors, than gather up a group..and participate! Or if you're more on the nāgwari side of life, and would prefer a social run-around, join anyway! The more the merrier! What better way to celebrate Ngāti Awatanga with a bit of friendly competition?

Ngakauroa is one of our Ngāti Awa owned and operated farms and GUESS WHAT? It’s been named a finalist in the Ahuwhenua Trophy competition. The judging panel will be at Ngakauroa farm to decide if we have what it takes to take this thing out! If you have nothing planned that day, head along to our Ngāti Awa pāmu and support this awesome kaupapa! Plenty of cool things happening in Ngāti Awa ne whānau? KA MAU TE WEHI!
