Borderline EP Focus - Because of You

Premiered on 'Because of You' gives the EP its dance floor energy.

Because of you was started with the drums bass and lead with the vocal coming in later. Originally I wanted a male vox shout, however. After developing the lead and adding a Reece bass the female vocal stood out and I added it to give it the ability to be both a track dropped in a set or listened too in its own. The drums are the heaviest and punchiest on the EP either the kick snare combo really standing out. Little synth hits and fx ensure the song is never stagnant.

Borderline EP Focus - Too High

Premiered on 'Too High' was all about starting the EP off on the right vibe giving listeners and indication of what my sound and Borderline EP is all about.

I crafted the track around the vocal, letting the vocal breathe and stand out while keeping the melodics interesting with movement and automation on the main pad. To fill out space the track contains heaps of little synth and fx hits that are heavily filtered and reverbed to give the listener the effect and sense of space. Drums in this one used modern samples and were processed with modern techniques that match the rest of the drums in the EP.

Borderline EP Focus - Dropper

Dropper premiered on was my final track created for the EP. After 3 ‘user friendly’ tracks I wanted to finish the EP off with a bang and create something for the club, for DJs to mix and double drop (hence the name).

The song consists of 4 bass patches created in serum and heaps of fx and modulation to keep the track flowing. This song is the only one in EP without prominent vocals, however, the vocal chops and shouts still pack a punch. The drums are a bit punchier than the other tracks but a lot slower to give DJs a chance to overlay the drums from the other tune being dropped.

Thankful, proud and everything in between to get this EP out on underground dnb heavyweight label Delta9 Recordings. This E.P was over a year in the making and to get a chance to deliver 4 diverse tracks makes the wait worth it!

There really is something in here for everyone! 2 melodic cuts with 'Borderline' & 'Too High' and two club intended tracks with 'Because of you' & 'Dropper'. This really is the best way to finish off a fun year.

DLT9 - Borderline EP dropping on all major streaming platforms on the 7th of December NZT & 8th of December in Europe.

My final release of the year is finally here and I couldn't be happier to release this EP on a label that has featured artists such as waeys, invaderhertz and many others I'm influenced by.

The EP features 4 cuts, each unique while still having that consistent sound I've developed over my years producing.

Levels is my first full streaming platform release in over a year. The Track name is a nod to my exploration of a new genre and a sense of fulfilment in my music journey to where I feel my production has "leveled" up.
