BEST DOCUMENTARY š
Itās official. The Adventure of Racing has been awarded best docco at the Mountain Film Festival!
āStokedā doesnāt come close for this. Like most things, the course of creating this film has been a journey and an experience and one that I continue to get so much growth from.
Thanks to the awesome team of badass adventure racers who allowed me to capture their own journey, to @rab.nz for the opportunity and @joemurdie.film for being an epic EP!
Come check it out on Saturday June 22nd at @nzmountainfilm as part of the Pure NZ Tahi
The secretās out! After two months of mystery, I can finally reveal what Iāve been up to at the end of last year š„
The only way I can describe the scale/craziness/epic-nature of this project in a post is to reflect on how every person busted their asses each day, through hundreds of kilometres, all weather and some extreme environments, to make it happen! Youāre all absolutely amazing!
Get ready to embark on the ultimate outdoor adventure and follow @usanetwork to stay in the loop.

A strong character-driven film following the journey of Rab WÄhine, a competitive womenās adventure racing team and their lead up to a World Championship race in Fiordland, New Zealand.
Stay tuned to see where itās going to land firstā¦
With Cardrona Alpine Resort, NZ closing for the season it's time to reflect on what a beaut of a winter we had in the Southern Hemisphere and especially at the Winter Games!....is it autumn again yet...? š
The power and beauty of mother nature as a loaded ice serac lets loose vs a clear calm night under the stars!
Glad to be filming this one from afar...
When you get asked to create something a little different with dark and moody vibes...

In February I joined Run Like Tanya traveling the South Island of New Zealand in the face of her fears to uncover what sheās capable of.
After 26 days, having been dropped on a remote piece of dirt in Fiordland, overlooking the roaring Tasman Sea in the midst of an incoming storm, we arrived on the East coast of Oamaru.
With the 45th line of latitude as the hand-rail for this journey I had captured some very highs, and exposing lows of Tanya and her quest.
Four months later and Tanya continues to receive speaking requests about her trip and more importantly, what it actually means to her on a deeper level.
Also, for the last four months, I am being asked about the subsequent documentary film, showing the traverse and everything that unfolded.
This was a huge project, that involved being part of the team while still being able to stand back and capture events unfolding - all while being self supported in the wilderness.
Yes, there is a 45th film in the making, but this will be something to look forward to being released in 2023.
For now though. Here is, West.
Through her life, and especially this expedition, Tanya discovered a deep connection to her wilderness environment in Fiordland - itās a special place! This short poetic film is about just that, itās Tanyaās expression of that part of the journey that had such a massive impact.
If you were at the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival festival this weekend then you were lucky enough to see and hear this selected film on the big screen. For those who couldnāt get a ticket to this sell out opening night, please, pause for a moment and immerse yourself in Tanyaās words.
This. Is. Fiordland.
High in the clouds began the challenge of crossing the Te Wai Pounamu (NZ's Southern Island) within the 45th parallel of latitude, west to east.
Despite only being a few weeks ago now, this was a journey to follow and capture @runliketanya as she allowed this new challenge to envelope her and at times take everything possible, from her.
If there was ever a #myfiordlandmoment the opening traverse of the Caswell Sound Ridge would most certainly be it!
All round firsts.
First frames of the 45th Parallel Traverse while I resurface for some air over what has been a surreal past few weeks crossing New Zealand.
This is from the first known full traverse of the Caswell Ridge in deepest Fiordland, linking up the peaks and gorges towards the Stillwater River and what would soon become some intense days and nights of back country travel!
While on a much needed rest day to let wounds and muscles recover, the journey continues tomorrow before sunrise. Follow the highs and lows of this 'women in adventure' expedition over at @runliketanya
@fiordland.nz @fiordlandoutdoors
One month to go until @coasttocoastnz
The only difference being that @speedyrennmaus and @sam.manson.nz will be moving four times as fast as this slow-mo video, down river!
A very candid unveiling from all round adventurer, Tanya Bottomley as she explores the relationship between societal expectations, her love of life and her pursuit of happiness.
Through a discussion that excavates the soul, we uncover more than expected. Shining some light to reveal some deep motivations to evolve and help not only herself, but others.
Listen and watch this realisation of self-actualisation that Tanya was good enough to share with the world.
