PUKEKOHE RUMOUR MILL!

It's wishful thinking that drives the rumour mill that Pukekohe is set to return. Stoking the 'fire' is the suggestion that Tony Quinn is going to purchase the facility from the Franklin Racing Club and return the iconic track to its former glory.

Velocity News has made extensive enquiries and can say that even if someone was prepared to stump up the $80 million dollars, the land is worth another $20M, in addition to upgrading the track and facilities.

It would now be impossible to obtain resource consent for said motor racing activities. Game set and match!

However, we are hearing persistent 'noise' about a consortium of investors looking at building a new Bay Of Plenty motorsport facility that appears to have some substance.
