It's Māori Language Week, so why not consider getting this little gem! It weaves Te Reo Māori into an enjoyable story about a day at the zoo. You can learn the Māori names of animals and the kupu Māori (Māori words) to describe them. Translations, along with pronunciation tips, are provided on each page. Additionally, there's more information and a complete glossary at the back of the book. This second book follows the first in the series, 'Rhyme & Reo: aeiou,' which was a finalist in the Māori Language Awards last year. It builds upon the foundation of the first book by introducing new vocabulary and simple phrases and sentence structures.

‘Just Breathe’ is a picture book written for children aged around 3-8 years old. It tells a story that takes children (and parents) through a simple and engaging mindfulness exercise. This introduces a wonderful way of dealing with difficult emotions and preventing anxiety. There has been increased attention on the importance of mindfulness education in New Zealand. Research shows that some of the major improvements from mindfulness include reducing symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression.
