Congratulations on an awesome achievement, Tom.
We've had the privilege of working with Tom on a number of projects over the years, but hearing his piece played live by the NZSO was a real treat.

Former students of The School of Performing Arts, Tom Jensen and Chris Geddis, had music performed by the NZ Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, as part of the Movie Magic concert in The Dunedin Town Hall. Tom has taught gaming music in the School and is now an experienced film and game music composer. His arrangement of music from ‘Game of Thrones’ entitled ‘hegemony’ was very effective and went down well with the large audience. Chris Geddis’ ‘Dawnrider’ was colourful and diverse in its soundworld. Both composers’ music compared well with the rest of the programme – all film music by the great John Williams! They also got to introduce their music to the audience. Well done guys.

Like last year 48Hours heats are streaming online which means you have an opportunity to watch them all and vote for your favourite film from each heat.

The 2022 heats start with Dunedin tomorrow (Saturday 20 August) and our comedy of errors, A New Leash on Love, is screening in the 4pm heat.

The heats won't remain online after the stream and we can't post the film online until we've been officially knocked out of the competition, so this could be your only chance to see the film for months.

The link to the stream is below, hit the Notify me option to get a reminder at the start time, and check out the channel for the dates and times of the other heats
