Nothing better than getting the service you pay for. The Pits Media very own Jason Gutteridge made his way up from Invercargill to help us program our new studio and he has done an amazing job. First Podium in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge!

Had a mega day, P4 in practice, P2 in quali and P3 in the race! Lead a few laps before I lost a couple spots to the EBM cars later in the race. We’ll have another crack tomorrow in Race 2&3!

Crazy crash for another driver in qualy who was ok but stopped the session and Ayrton qualified 6th. For the race Ayrton commented he wasn't to happy with a top 5 but I guess that's why winning is everything. We thought it was awesome. Full speedway mode at some point whoo hoo. Good luck for the next one.

Sorry we have been off to a slow start this week for shouting from the roof tops that Ayrton Hodson is racing his first street circuit this weekend in Australia in the Porsche Sprint Challenge for McElrea Racing on the same bill as Supercars, just so exciting.

Following his announcement this week he was joining HLR Racing NZ to have a tilt at the NZ Sprint Car Title (see link below), please get in behind this young talent as he takes on some of the best young Porsche drivers in the world on tarmac. These speedway kids do know how to turn right as well :)

P.S. 5th in practice as a rookie on your first street circuit is pretty.

Last night the north island modified team beat the south island modified team at Blenheim. So with Jonas 17w, Craig Pottinger 26w, Jacob 36w, Aaron 16w from Welly and then the Kalins Jason 12s and Braith 9s from Stratty it was Jacob Free who took the final overtake needed in the feature to secure us a win on the tieback rule. With Jason Kalin 12s having a massive crash in his final heat and Aaron 16w having terminal issues the North Ialand team had to finish 4 cars in the top 7 to win and we only had 4 cars left. With Luke Keegan from the south streaking away and Mike Gourley 4c in second it was Braith Kalin 9s in third and Jonas 17w in fourth. Craig 26w hold on to a top 6 spot. So it was 3 north and 3 south in the top 6 so it was Jacob 36w who passed Kevin Ban from the south late in the race to get 7th meant the North won on a tie breaker.

Huge congrats to LSK Motorsport - Luke Keegan 34c, Mike Gourly 4c and Kalin Motorsport Braith 9s for the podium for the Invasion side of the event.

Great track eastern states speedway and thx to Craig Pottinger for all the organising.

Great to see our south island mates and have so much fun.

Well that didn't go to plan but at least got out there. The 16w has been amazing all season but the old girl has had enough with multiple mechanical failures to keep us busy in the off season. Will do a season round up soon but thanks to eastern states speedway and Craig Pottinger for putting on a great event that we will now be staying to spectate. Go the north!!!! Thanks to Richie, John, Novac my crew are amazing.

We are going to be heading to this event in Blenheim this weekend. 6 cars from North and 7 from the South will make for some great action at eastern states speedway over two nights. The format means it will be action packed.

2 races today, we’ll be off the back for the 45 minute race this morning and hopefully we can make some positions to put ourselves in a good spot for the last race this afternoon.

All right folks its the Garage16 Wellington Modified Champs & Phil Patterson Memorial tonight Wellington Family Speedway. We have a decent size field but even more important the class in the field especially at the top means entertainment is pretty much guaranteed.

The 16w will be out again tonight and although the car is 100% the driver isn't so much but he will give it a go anyway to continue learning how to drive one of these beasts without it driving him.

The sabbatical continues......

I finally had the 16w out for a run. With more time this year I rebuilt the car in the off season myself this year, then I could learn everything about what I have under my right foot. FYI the body and livery are temporary additions until I stop breaking stuff.

Went out for my first run of the year for the Tama Arapere Memorial and way to much fell off to discuss any further. Not on boxing day though I fixed everything prior and short of a loose tappet cover and the floor pan falling off during the night we actually completed all three races. Huge shout out to John Nicolle for keeping the thing together. I was still 1.5 seconds off the pace of the other guys which is frustrating but all part of the learning process.
