Interdominion Wahiki Island 2025

It was an unforgettable annual event, offering an exciting race that was 60% fun and 60% competition.
Participants enjoyed four days of racing and cruising around the beautiful Auckland Gulf Islands, with five course races, including two long-distance races and one 33 km marathon. The event combined beauty with challenge as sailors journeyed from the southwest to the northeast coast, surrounded by seabirds, sharks, and penguins.

The event was born last year during a race at the Raglan Sailing Club, between Bruce Kendall, Claudio Barbuzza, and Doug Ferguson.
Thanks to Bruce, this unforgettable event became a reality – something that had never happened before! A big thank you to all the staff in the safety boats, catering, both on land and on sea. Special thanks to Dave for handling the computer work and to Greg John for perfectly directing all the races.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Following last weekend’s successful Windsurfer LT event with the Raglan Sailing Club annual regatta, the Windsurfer LT NZ Class association has responded to overwhelming requests to shift the location of this weekend’s event from Wakatere to return to Lake Pupuke for a demo, coaching and racing day.
We will arrive at 11am and racing starts with the Laser racing fleet at 2pm.
To reserve a board to sail around for over 30 minutes or to race, you will need to reserve a board by paying a charter fee.
Entry fee for the racing needs to be paid on the day at and to the Lake Pupuke Yacht Club.

the new team Windsurfer Lt New Zealand , participating for the first time in the 2025 Australian windsurfer championship, scored a title by winning in the lightweight category with Michael Kilduff
Doug Ferguson's performance was also very good, finishing in the top 10.
Legend Claudio Barbuzza achieved third place in the over 60s, remaining constant in the middle of the overall rankings.
An excellent experience which gave the opportunity to evaluate the technical racing skills of the new Windsurfer LT New Zealand team.
Ready for the next appointment on March 21st for the fantastic "Interdominion" regatta scheduled for March 21/23 2025
