It's perfect timing for Volunteering Week that my mind was opened today to this wonderful charity. A 100% self-funded organisation relying solely on volunteers.

Chip Packet Project New Zealand reuses your empty foil packets and creates survival sheets (thermal blankets) for those living on the streets throughout NZ. Did you know a chip packet can take 80 years to decompose in a landfill - so this is a double win.

There is a drop off zone in Ngaruawahia or PM me if you would wish to know where you can drop them in Hamilton ( a drop off point is being arranged).

Today, I honour the legacy of Georgina Beyer - a driving force for equality and respect both as the world's first openly transgender mayor and MP.

With a powerful commitment to justice and equality, she made impactful contributions during her first term in parliament - most notably helping pass the Civil Unions Act and Prostitution Reform Act.

Today we remember Queen Elizabeth II (1926 – 2022).
Thank you, Ma'am, rest in peace now.

Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.

I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.
