New console getting a good workout last week with #theireyeswereflowers
It’s been a while since I’ve done a post, bit too preoccupied with recording, mixing, swimming, repairing, mixing, yarning, swimming, tweaking, swimming and watching the world go by. Oh and also my side hustle peg repair business. Give those pegs another life ya’ll
A lot of fun to be had with an AM radio, phaser and tape delay…..
Had someone referencing the vocal effect from this Trinity Toots tune. Seeing as it’s almost 20 years old my memory can’t rememory the information of what we did, but opening up the session reveals it was the trusty TC D2 (knew there was a reason I hadn’t gotten rid of this unit) and the hugely underrated D-verb. Just wish I had the D-verb hardware unit….
Sometimes you stumble across a loop that just keeps you reel so you add it to your reel so that it keeps looping. Then the tape runs out and it’s time to go back to the reel world.
Very weird sounds emanating from this fine array of speakers. It’s not supposed to sound like this (protools is struggling to get up to speed this morning) but I’m very much enjoying what it’s doing. Spatial sounds at Massey School of music.
Fun and games with sfx and a space echo
Pianos are full of sweet overtones which is generally great, but not so great for a tight skanky skank. But a transient designer can tighten that piano right up. Tight tight alright. Too funky? I don’t think so.
