Look no further than your doorstep for some incredible writing. The Peter Wells Short Fiction award winning Phoebe Wilton-Stuart features in Vines #3 published by the trail blazing EVBooks - Publishers, and Nafanua Kersel, Slam Champ and poet who has reduced me to tears with her poetry (quite hard to do), has pieces in BOTH. And just look at the beauty of Vā: Stories by Women of the Moana, published by Tatou Publishing. Aren't we lucky. Lou x

Congratulations Charity! Nicely done. I read it and loved it! Good luck!

I'm delighted and honoured - and stoked! - that The Secrets of Strangers is a finalist for this year's Ngaio Marsh Awards Best Novel. Some astonishingly good books were entered this year, in all sections. Founder Craig Sisterton called it a 'dazzlingly varied field' and I agree. Ka Pai to all!

A Clear Dawn is the first ever anthology of Asian New Zealand writing. With roots stretching from Indonesia to Japan, from China to the Philippines to the Indian subcontinent, the authors in this anthology range from high school students to retirees, from recent immigrants to writers whose families have lived in New Zealand for generations.

The diverse voices, styles and points of view marks A Clear Dawn as a new literature of Aotearoa New Zealand.

The latest Vines is with the printer!

The editors of Vines are pleased to present the second edition of Hawke’s Bay’s own Lit-Arts Journal, celebrating our local writers and artists.

The first edition of Vines was produced with the support of
Creative Communities NZ, Napier City and Creative Arts Napier.
Without their assistance we would not have this platform from which to showcase our talented locals.
